Chapter 214
“Brother, I, I just accidentally bumped into the wine glass without paying attention. I’m sorry, I will clean it up right away.”
Lauryn squatted down to clean up the broken glass on the floor.
The low–cut dress exposed the cleavage in front of Lennon.
Lennon blackened his face and a tone of impatience could be heard in his voice, “Get up, we’re going back right now.”
Lauryn picked up the glass shards with her hand and suddenly screamed.
The finger was cut, and the bright red blood dripped down steadily.
She weakly stood up, pitifully pursed her lips, and said, “Brother, I got scratched by glass. Can you please take me to the hospital first?”
Lennon lowered his gaze and glanced at Lauryn’s wound.“There are band–aids and rubbing alcohol at home, take care of it yourself.”
“Couldn’t you take me to the hospital? It really hurt.”
Lennon smirked and sarcastically said, “The wound will heal once we reach the hospital.”

The next morning, Bella couldn’t reach Lennon’s phone and called the assistant Thomas instead.
“Was Lenny busy?”
Thomas was very respectful and said, “Mrs. Stark, the president just finished the meeting.”
“You made him answer the phone.”
Lennon glanced at him sideways and said, “Grandma?”
Thomas nodded and handed over the phone.
Bella’s tone was still gentle, “Lenny, your sister got sick, and it’s quite serious. She’s currently hospitalized in the hospital. I’ll send you the -address and room number. Please find some time to go visit her.”
“Grandma, Lennon replied coldly, “If she’s sick,
don’t you find a doctor? Why come to me? I can’t treat illnesses.”
Bella steadied her emotions and had a good attitude.“Just this once, no matter what, she is your sister after all. It wouldn’t hurt to visit her in the hospital since she’s sick, right?”
“Lenny, last time Grandma was wrong about the family banquet. Grandma apologizes to you. Yesterday Lauryn got very sick, and today I went to the hospital to see her. She looks so exhausted, it really breaks my heart. Lauryn misses her brother, so can you go to the hospital and see her? Just consider it as giving Grandma some face, okay?”
The conversation had reached this point, and even the usually dominant Bella had to swallow her pride and apologize. After all, it was her own grandmother. Lennon followed suit and agreed to find time to go and visit.
Hospital.
Lennon walked into the hospital ward carrying the nutritious soup that the police had brought for Bella.
In the ward, Lauryn lay there receiving intravenous fluids, her face pale, looking truly sick. When Lennon entered, a glimmer of joy flashed in Lauryn’s eyes, “Brother, you’re here.”
