Chapter 217
Although Mariela hired a caregiver, Lennon still personally took care of her in the hospital.
Actually, there wasn’t much for Lennon to do. There were nurses to give injections and infusions, a housekeeper to cook, and caregivers to
clean and serve tea.
But Lennon was clearly busy and always had something to do.
Mariela just casually mentioned that he cooked soup for Lauryn, even though the soup wasn’t actually cooked by him. But Mariela was not happy. Lennon, in order to cheer her up, told Mariela that he would take time off tomorrow morning to cook soup
for her.

The cook prepared the meal and brought it over. Lennon wanted to personally open it and placed it on a small table. He fed Mariela bite by bite.
Mariela smiled somewhat helplessly, “I was not a child anymore, I could eat by myself.”
“No, it was inconvenient for you to have a needle in your hand.”
After dinner, Mariela had to take her medicine. Lennon poured water for her and supervised her taking the medicine.
Even when Mariela wanted to eat a fruit, Lennon would personally peel or slice it for her.
Mariela laughed and looked at the pile of documents on his desk, “Weren’t you very busy?”
“No matter how busy, one should not mistreat his wife.”
The caregiver auntie smiled beside her and said, “Ms. Logan, your husband really doted on you.”
Mariela’s cheeks grew hot, and her ears turned red, but she did not deny what the caregiver aunt said.
After the caregiver aunt left, Lennon sat behind the desk and looked up at her, a smile in his eyes, “Admit that I am your husband now?”
Mariela blinked at him and said, “Didn’t you say that sooner or later I would be your wife? I am not prepared to run, and I can’t escape, so I can only accept it.”
The man’s lips curved slightly, “This is about right.”
Under Lennon’s careful care, Mariela quickly recovered and was discharged from the hospital.
Lennon had been busy for a while, and the challenging project was finally completed. He finally had some free time and planned to take Mariela out for a trip to relax.
Last time, he took Marie to see the meteor shower, but Lauryn ruined their fun. When they came back, Marie was scolded and embarrassed by her grandmother at the family banquet. Lennon felt guilty and wanted to use this trip to strengthen their relationship.
He asked for Mariela’s opinion, and it just so happened that Mariela had recently finished some cases and was waiting for others to go to trial. She had three or four days of free time, so she agreed to go on a trip with him.
Because Mariela had limited time, they did not choose to go abroad.
The tourist destination was a well–known scenic spot in the country.
