The location was chosen by Mariela, a place she had wanted to visit for the past two years, but she had been constantly held back by various
matters.
When Jaime received a call from his brother Efrain, he had just finished a meeting.
“Efrain, is there something wrong?” Jaime asked as he answered the phone and walked into the office.
Efrain said “Brother, guess who I just saw?”
“Who is it?”
Efrain’s rone sounded excited, “Guess, guess.”
Jaime said impatiently, “I don’t want to guess. I’m busy, so if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up first.”
In the past, Jaime and Efrain were of the same kind, indulging in eating, drinking, playing, and being idle, taking advantage of their wealthy families to squander recklessly.
After the Herman Group fell into crisis, Jaime became more reserved and started to focus on the affairs of the group, actively seeking
investments.
After learning about Mariela’s identity as a scion of a wealthy family, Jaime regretted even more.
Now he has the appearance of a business manager, no longer idling around and neglecting his work every day, and his contact with Efrain has become less and less.
Efrain chuckled, “Hey, you would never guess, but I just saw your ex–girlfriend Mariela.”
Jaime’s footsteps came to a halt.
He had already reached the office door, but he stopped and showed no intention of opening it.
-Efrain paused and continued, “And her boyfriend, the prince of the Stark family, they had a good relationship. They seemed very affectionate,
always holding hands while walking.”
Jaime remained silent for a while.
His breathing became heavier, and his voice became tense and hoarse, “Where is it?”
“In Bormio, Lombardy, at the foot of Monte Stelvio.”
The accommodation for this trip was booked by Mariela.
Bormio was not fully developed yet, the place was small, and there were no star–rated hotels in the town, only guesthouses.
Mariela’s chosen homestay had a great location, as soon as she opened the window, she could see the snow–capped mountains.
It was the peak tourist season in Bormio now, and the town was bustling with a lot of people.
On the first day of their arrival, exhausted from the journey, Mariela and Lennon didn’t go anywhere and just stayed in the house watching
movies.
Mariela turned on the TV and chose a classic romance movie, “Atonement,” starring James McAvoy and Keira Knightley.
The room was well–heated, with dim and dull lighting, creating an ambiguous atmosphere. Mariela leaned on Lennon’s shoulder, focusing on
the movie.
Although she knew it would be a tragedy, Mariela couldn’t help but shed tears when she saw the ending.
