Mariela frowned deeply, her lips tight, not speaking.
“Why don’t you guess whose baby Dalia is carrying?”
This question shocked Mariela.
Her body shook involuntarily.

She was upset, glaring at Jaime, and snapped, “Don’t spread lies and cause trouble! Lenny isn’t like that! He’s not like you! Don’t think everyone is bad just because you are!”

Jaime shrugged and smiled lightly, “Lennon is with Dalia now. Why not call and ask him?”
“I know you’re just trying to stir up trouble between me and him.” Mariela pushed Jaime and turned to leave.
Jaime grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards the door, nearly making her fall.
He held her waist, leaned in, and breathed in her hair, obsessed.“Mariela, leave him and come back to me.”
Mariela kneed Jaime’s stomach hard.
He yelled and let her go.
Mariela slapped Jaime’s face without hesitating.
