“Everyone’s got a past.” Lennon played the card and shot him an icy glance. Haven’t you ever been in a relationship?
Darryl rubbed his nose. “Yeah, I have. Hut you never dated anyone before her, right? Slse was your first love, but you weren’t hers. Doesn’t that sort of bother you?”
“Not at all,” Lennon said, his eyes softening “Just being with her makes me feel lucky.”
Carsen chuckled, “You’re really head over heels for her.”
After finishing the round, Lennon glanced at his watch and got up Time to go.”
Today, he was holding a welcome dinner for Matiela.
Under the vibrant glow of neon lights, a sleek blue Bentley glided to a stop in front of New York’s most opulent five–star hotel. The evening breeze blew, carrying a touch of cool air.
Mariela opened the car door and stepped out.
“Marie, over here!” Caylee stood at the hotel entrance, smiling and waving at Mariela.
