Chapter 111

MommyCyrus called out, his little hand gripping my arm tightly. I turned to the elderly woman next to me, her face pale but calm. Please take care of him,I whispered urgently. I’ll be right back.”

With a deep breath, I stepped forward, my heart racing like a trapped animal. Despite the fear clawing at me, I forced myself to stand tall. I’m the one you’re looking for!I called. out, my voice trembling but strong, refusing to back down even when every instinct told me

to run

The hijackers stopped, their attention pivoting toward me. One of them, a masked figure who had been lurking in the shadows, stood up slowly. He clapped his hands together, a mocking gesture. Enough,he commanded, his voice cold yet authoritative. Stop hurting innocent people.Well, well, look at the brave woman,he said, a smirk hidden beneath his mask. I admire bravery in a person

What do you want from me?I demanded, striving to sound confident and brave. He stepped closer, his eyes boring into mine as if inspecting a prize to be won. You’ve been quite the nuisance,he said, his voice smooth and chilling. But I like your spirit. Let’s see how brave you really are.”

Before I could react, he produced a small device, something that shimmered ominously in the dim light of the cabin. This will be over quickly,he said, lunging toward me

Cyrus’s frightened whimper brought me back to reality. I couldn’t let them take me without a fight. You leave him out of this!I shouted, stepping protectively in front of my son, instinct overriding reason

But the hijacker was too quick. He stunned me with the device, and the world around me began to blur

As darkness filled my vision, I thought of Cyrus. I thought of the love I had for him, the promise I made to keep him safe. The last thing I heard before succumbing to the void was his terrified cry, a haunting echo of my worst fears coming to life

The man in the mask leaned close and, with his gloved hand, gently brushed over Doris’s hair in a way that was both disturbing and oddly tender. Her unconscious figure lay slumped in the seat beside him, unaware of his presence. Across the aisle, Cyrus watched in shock. Questions filled his mild. A deep fear for his mother grew inside him

Just then, a familiar face emerged from the front of the plane. It was the flight attendant who had been taken earlier, and she walked toward Cyrus with a calm, almost placid expression. To his relief, she seemed unharmed, but her movements were robotic, as if

strict orders

Reaching him, she extended a folded letter toward him, her voice calm and reassuring. Don’t be afraid, she said softly. Your mother took a risk for everyone on this plane. Take this letter and keep it safe. You can deliver it to whoever you wish. The Johnson family father of yours, perhaps? Or maybe your M.D. father?”

Cyrus stared, unable to grasp her words. He wanted to ask a hundred questions, but fear held his voice back. She didn’t stay, turning away from him and crossing the aisle back toward the masked man

Stopping a respectful distance away, she lowered her gaze and bowed slightly. Alpha, shall we go?she asked quietly. Without a word, the man’s hand shot out, slapping her across the face. The strike was swift and sharp, yet his voice remained gentle, almost as though he were explaining a rule to a child. Our current identity is Rogue Wolf. Do not call me at,”

The masked man turned, his hidden gaze locking onto the frightened passenger. He gate a slow, approving nod. Good,he replied. It’s best that you didn’t.”

As the masked man spoke, the plane suddenly lurched, a violent jolt throwing everyone against their seats. Passengers gripped their armrests, some letting out cries of alarm. Cyrus clutched the armrest, feeling his stomach twist as the plane pitched and swayed. Then, just as quickly as it had started, the turbulence stopped, and the plane leveled out. But when Cyrus looked around, he realized the masked figures were gone, and Doris was no longer in
