Chapter 122
Her face hardened as she growled, “You think you’re better than me, don’t you? You think you’re perfect? Well, look at nte now, Doris. Look at what you’ve done. I’m disfigured. I’m nothing. And you’re still standing there, living your perfect life.”
“Look at yourself,” I said coldly. “You did this to yourself. Consumed by jealousy, trying to take what wasn’t yours. And now, you’re nothing but a twisted mess, blaming me for your misery.”
Her body shook with rage as she screamed, “You did this, Doris! You have everything, and 1 have nothing. You ruined me. You ruined my life!”
“No, Sienna. You did that all on your own. You chose this. You’re the one who couldn’t fight for what mattered. And now you’re here, blaming me for everything.”
Sienna let out a strangled cry, her voice breaking with desperation. “You don’t understand!
You never understood! I never had the same chances. Nathan chose you. Mum always
favored you. You had everything. Doris. Everything.”
I said coldly, “No wonder Mum and Dad don’t like you, Sienna. You’re a dark, vile person.
You’ll never be happy. Your son thinks you’re dead, and you’re alive and don’t even visit
him.”
Her face turned ashen, but I didn’t care. “What kind of mother are you? You live, but your son believes you’re dead, and you don’t even care enough to visit him.”
Her body stiffened, her face going pale. “I can’t help it!” she screamed, her voice breaking with raw emotion. “I can’t… I can’t change what’s happened to me!”
Her hands shook, and her breath came in quick gasps. “You think you know everything, don’t you?” she yelled, her voice breaking with anger. “You think I wanted this? To be like this? To hurt every day in this body?” Her eyes burned with fury, and her face twisted in päin. “I never had a chance, Doris! It’s because of you that I’m like this!” She slammed her fist against the wall, her whole body trembling, and the pain only made her more furious.
You never tried,” I said coldly. “You chose to wallow in your hatred for me instead of

lighting for what mattered.”
One of the guards stepped forward. “Sienna, it’s time to go.”
But she wasn’t finished. Her eyes glinted with spite as she hissed, “I’ll be the Luna of this place, Doris. You’ll see. I’ll make sure of it, and when I do, you’ll pay. I’ll make you suffer like you’ve never known.”
I stood tall, my voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Then may you succeed. And not fail.
like you always do.”
As the guards pulled her away, I couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of satisfaction. Her anger, her hatred, her jealousy, it would never be enough. Sienna had chosen her path, and I had no sympathy left for her.
The guards took her away, and I was left alone in the small room.I walked in small circles.
That woman was relentless. She would never stop trying to make me the cause of her
misery.
Suddenly, I froze. I could feel it. The eyes on me. Someone was watching. “Damn it,” I -muttered, looking around the room. “I know you’re there. Show yourself!”
Tina asked, “What’s wrong, Doris?” “This fucking creep must be watching me,” I whispered.
“I can feel it. I am sure”
Just as I was about to turn around and search the room more thoroughly, the door creaked open, and there he was. Merhold.
His presence filled the room, and I immediately knew he was the one who had been. watching me. The same cold smirk was on his face, the same predatory gleam in his eyes.
“Do
you remember who I am?” he asked smoothly and amusingly.
I smiled back at him, but it wasn’t friendly. “Oh, I remember you. But I won’t admit it.
You’re a bastard, Merhold.”
He stepped closer, not the least bit offended. Instead, his eyes softened, and something darker passed through them. “I like you more and more, Doris. You’re brave, stubborn…
“Giving Up My First Love For Secret Research: Second Chance at Happiness
exactly the kind of woman I want by my side. Let’s get married. Let’s be mates. You can be
my Luna.”
I laughed bitterly. “Your Luna is so worthless, anyone can be it.”
Merhold’s eyes glinted. “No, Doris. That woman has her uses. I just didn’t want her to bother me, so I made up some reason to keep her quiet. I have some bigger plans.Don’t worry about her threats. She’ll never get a chance to hurt you.”
A sense of discomfort settled in me as Merhold’s words replayed in my head. He had said that his plans for Sienna were far bigger than I could imagine, but what did he mean by
that?
Was he talking about some grand scheme, or was it something more personal? My stomach twisted into knots as I thought of Sienna; her cruelty, her anger. But why would Merhold
want to involve himself with her? Was he trying to gain control over her, or was it something about his own dark desires?
