Chapter 125
I watched, caught off guard by how different he seemed. There was this carefree energy in him, like he was just an enthusiastic student who loved sports, jokes, and simple things. All day, he laughed and played with the others, his face glowing in a way that made him look… well, different. Almost kind.
As he took a break, Merhold came over to me, shirtless, his skin glistening under the sunlight. His muscles were firm and defined, every line and curve a picture of strength.
I couldn’t help but recall how, every time he exercised, he looked even more handsome, his athletic form glowing in the warm light. With a playful grin, he reached out, taking the water I’d prepared for him, his eyes sparkling with an energy that was hard to ignore.
“Aren’t you afraid I might have put something in it?” I said, trying to shake off the odd feelings he was stirring.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he took a sip, his gaze steady on mine. “I’ll take anything -you give me, Doris,” he replied, his voice soft but intense. “Even if it’s poison.”
I didn’t know what to say, so we just stood there in silence for a while. A part of me was still angry, but another part; one I didn’t want to admit was starting to see him differently.
We stayed together for a while, just talking, until one of Merhold’s Betas came over and handed him a note. Merhold read it quickly, a mysterious smile appearing on his face as he listened to whatever reply was given. He folded the note and turned back to me.
“I have something to take care of,” he said, his smile lingering, “Feel free to go wherever you want, Doris, shop, explore. Every place here is open to you.”
I paused, surprised by the unexpected freedom. It felt almost strange, like he was inviting
me to see more of his world, or perhaps testing how far I’d venture on my own..
I didn’t understand this sudden freedom, but I decided to take advantage of it. I wandered for a bit before finding myself near Merhold’s villa. Feeling a surge of curiosity, I headed. toward his study. Strangely, no guards stopped me; it was almost like they expected me to
be there.

Inside, I glanced around, taking in the organized shelves and polished furniture. I tried calling Carlos, hoping for some clarity, but the phone was dead. Tina’s warning echoed in. iny mind; she’d said Merhold was prepared, that if he was letting me in, he had something planned. But I couldn’t forget the feeling that I was close to finding something important.
After searching for a while, I found a mobile phone on the desk. Heart pounding, I picked it up, scanning through messages, looking for anything useful. I was so focused I didn’t notice the footsteps outside until they were close.
Quickly, I slipped the phone into my pocket and headed for the door, trying to stay calm.
But as I reached it, I stopped in shock. Sienna was standing there, her eyes blazing with
fury, a knife clenched in her hand.
“You shouldn’t have come here, Doris,” she hissed, taking a menacing step toward me, her face twisted with anger. The gleam of the knife told me she was ready to kill me.
I froze, heart pounding in my chest as Sienna’s dark eyes locked onto mine. The door
behind me felt like a barrier too thin to protect me from the storm in front of me.
She stepped forward, her hand tightening around the hilt of the knife, her movements
sharp and calculated. There was no room for escape, not this time.
“You shouldn’t have come here, Doris,” she spat, her voice dripping with venom.
Her lips curled into a twisted grin, “I’m done playing games,” she said in a low mocking tone. “Time for you to pay the price for your defiance.”
My mind raced, thinking of ways to survive this. I needed a distraction; anything to get me
out this mess. My pulse hammered in my ears, the sound of Sienna’s breaths p
heavier as she advanced.
I dodged to the side, my heart nearly stopping as the blade sliced through the air mere inches from my skin. The force of her attack sent a rush of air past me, making me stumble
back further into the corner.
I could hear Sienna’s breath grow ragged, her rage so intense. it almost consumed the air around us. She turned to me again, her eyes wild, her knife raised high, ready to strike.
Istood in the hallway, the creepy silence pressing down on me. Just moments ago, there

had been guards, their presence a constant reminder that I wasn’t free to move about this, place. But now, the hallway was empty, no one in sight. It was like they had vanished into
thin air.
