Chapter 150
The crowd watched us in silence, amazed by how we moved together. Their whispers and smiles showed they could feel the connection between us.
As we finished, the crowd clapped, impressed by how well we danced together. But soon, the clapping was replaced by whispers, following us like a shadow.
“Why didn’t he ask his fiancée to dance?‘
Who is this strange female Alpha? She’s not one of us!”
Their words were painful, but I kept my head high. Carlos seemed unaffected, his movements fluid and graceful as he guided me through the dance.
Tina suddenly appeared, her grin mischievous. “You know why he’s dancing with you, right?” she said, her voice teasing.
“Tina, stop,” I hissed, feeling the heat rise to my cheeks. She leaned in closer, her voice
carrying despite the music. “It’s because he likes you.”
My face burned as I glared at her. “Don’t say that!”
Carlos paused mid–step and asked, “What was that? What did you just say, Tina?” My wolf suddenly felt very shy?”
Tina smirked, clearly enjoying my discomfort. “Nothing, Your Highness. Just a private conversation.”
Carlos turned to me, amusement twinkling in his eyes. “Doris, care to share?”
I blushed and didn’t know what to say, my wolf shifting uneasily inside me. “It’s… nothing! She’s just teasing,” I stammered.
Carlos didn’t push further, but his smirk told me he wasn’t entirely convinced.

Before the moment could grow more awkward, the grand doors of the hall burst open, and a small figure sprinted inside.
“Mumil”
The voice was unmistakable. Iturned, my heart leaping into my throat as Cyrus ran toward me, his small face full of urgency.
“Cyrus?” I crouched down, meeting him halfway. “What’s wrong?”
He grabbed my hands, his grip tight. “Mum, you have to come quick!”
Cyrus, what happened?” I asked him.
He shook his head, his wide eyes pleading. “Just come! Please!”
All eyes turned to us the moment Cyrus entered the hall. Whispers rippled through the crowd, growing louder as more people took notice.
Fingers pointed, and knowing glances were exchanged. I felt a wave of anxiety, but I lifted
by chin, refusing to look away. Cyrus clung to my hand, his small frame stiff with unease
Carlos, standing near the center of the room, immediately sensed the growing commotion. His sharp gaze swept over the crowd, but he didn’t acknowledge their behavior.
Instead, he walked toward us with purpose. When he reached Cyrus, he crouched to meet the boy’s eyes.
“What are you doing here, Cyrus?” Carlos asked gently, his voice was calm and sweet.
Cyrus hesitated, glancing at me nervously. “I want to stay with my mum,” he said quietly, his voice steady despite his obvious discomfort.
Hearing those words made me feel emotional. Cyrus had only just returned to me after being gone for so long. It was clear he didn’t feel safe, not yet.
The fear in his eyes broke something inside me. He needed me, and I couldn’t let him down.

Carlos studied Cyrus for a moment before nodding. “Alright,” he said simply, standing and, lifting Cyrus into his arms. “You’ll stay with her.”
The whispers got louder, and it felt like everyone’s eyes were on me. My face turned red, but I tried not to let them see that I was upset.
Reaching out, I took Cyrus from Carlos and held him close. “It’s okay, sweetheart,” I whispered, brushing his hair back gently. “I’ve got you.”
Carlos moved to stand beside me, his presence solid and reassuring. “Let’s go,” he said, his
voice cutting through the noise with quiet authority.
Without another word, we walked away together, ignoring the stares and murmurs that
followed us.
Carlos led us down the grand corridors to Queen Luna’s chambers. The closer we got, the more my nerves frayed.
When we finally entered the room, I was struck again by its intimidating grandeur. The Queen sat on her ornate throne, her posture perfect, her expression as cold and distant as
#ever.
She barely glanced at us as we entered. “Welcome,” she said, her tone polite but devoid of
warmth.
Cyrus, however, seemed completely unaffected. “Hello, Your Majesty!” he said brightly, his small voice echoing in the grand chamber.
Then, turning to Faye and Odette, he gave a slight bow. “Hello, Lady Faye. Hello, Lady Odette,” he added with a beaming smile.
Faye’s face lit up, and she immediately knelt to his level. “Oh, Cyrus, you’ve grown so much! And such lovely manners,” she said warmly, ruffling his hair.
Odette, standing beside her, smiled. “You’re as charming as ever, young man,” she added.
Cyrus basked in their attention, his earlier tension melting away. But as I watched the exchange, I couldn’t help noticing Queen Luna’s indifference. She observed the scene with a
detached air, as if it didn’t concern her at all.
Faye seemed to notice too. Rising to her feet, she addressed the Queen directly. “If you spend more than three hours with Cyrus, you’ll surely love this child,” she said, her tone
pointed.
