Chapter 152
The windows shimmered in the sunlight, as though touched by magic. It felt like stepping into another world, one of beauty, power, and untold history.
Inside, the palace was even more extraordinary. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, their sparkling lights reflecting off the marble floors below.
The air was cool and carried the faint scent of fresh flowers, adding to the sense of calm that enveloped the space.
Rich tapestries adorned the walls, each one depicting moments of triumph and peace from the kingdom’s history, battles won, kings crowned, and celebrations of peace. They told the stories of those who had come before us, shaping the world we now lived in.
As we moved further into the palace, I noticed the noble girls walking through the halls. Some of them were so graceful, their movements smooth and confident.
*It was clear that they came from important families. Many of them were daughters of Beta ministers, their poised and elegant demeanor showing that they were accustomed to such luxury.
Others were daughters of Prince Alphas, their outfits adorned with fine jewels that sparkled like stars in the night sky.
And a few were from the wealthiest packs, their air of superiority unmistakable as they moved through the palace like they owned it.
It was at that moment that I realized this was not just about Carlos choosing a royal consort. This grand display, the presence of these noble girls, and the magnificence of the palace
were all part of Queen Luna’s plan.
hadn’t understood it at first, but now it was clear. Queen Luna wasn’t happy with herself. This entire spectacle, the palace, the grand halls, the noble girls all was her way of asserting control, of creating an image of importance that she so desperately wanted.
She needed to feel significant, to prove to herself and to others that she was still powerful.
P
noticed my silence and glanced at me. “You’ll like your room,” he said, his voice calm
and steady.
I squeezed Cyrus’s hand a little tighter as we walked side by side. “The palace is… amazing,”
I said softly.
It wasn’t just the beauty of the palace that left me in awe; it was the reality behind all of this. The display of power, the filled halls; it was all part of something bigger than I had expected.
Carlos’s steps slowed as we moved through the halls. He glanced at me once more, and there was a hint of sympathy in his expression, though it was brief. “Don’t worry,” he said,
His voice low. “You’ll be fine.”
I nodded but didn’t say anything. As we walked, my thoughts shifted back to Queen Luna. This arrangement, this display of wealth and status, it was clear now that it was all about her. She wasn’t content with herself. Maybe, just maybe, she thought that by controlling who Carlos chose as his consort, she could restore a sense of power, of dignity.
I couldn’t help but wonder if I could ever change her perception of me. Or if she would always see me as an outsider, unworthy of the place she held in the palace.
We reached my quarters, and Carlos opened the door for me. The room was massive, larger than any home I had ever known.
The bed was enormous, with silky sheets that shimmered in the soft light of the room. The posts were carved with delicate patterns, each one more intricate than the last.
The curtains were thick velvet, deep and dark like the midnight sky. The air was cool, and
the faint scent of lavender spread, giving the space an almost ethereal feeling. It was beautiful, no doubt, but it felt distant, as though it wasn’t truly mine.
“This will be your room,” Carlos said, stepping aside so I could enter.
Į glanced around, taking it all in. It was stunning, yet it felt so empty. So removed from the life I knew.
Cyrus tugged at my sleeve, his small voice breaking through my thoughts. “Mum, will the doctor stay with us here?” he asked, his innocent eyes filled with curiosity.
“Grang Up My First Love Dor Sertel

knelt down and brushed a stray lock of hair from his forehead. “No, sweetheart, not right now. But don’t worry. Mummy will solve all our problems, and the doctor will help too. -We’ll be together as a family soon, I promise.”
Cyrus smiled at me, his small face lighting up with hope. That smile was all I needed to feel a flicker of warmth in my chest, a reminder of what truly mattered.
Just then, Tina, my inner wolf, stirred in my mind. “Be careful,” she warned, her voice sharp and alert. “I smell other werewolves nearby.”
I straightened immediately, my senses heightened. Something didn’t feel right. I moved quickly to the door and opened it.
Outside, a group of maids stood gathered in the hall. The moment they saw me, they didn’t move. Instead, they sneered at me, their faces filled with disdain.
“Not used to a house this grand, are you?” One of them said, her voice dripping with scorn.
