Marcus and Valerie were slowly finding some stability. Valerie, now over six months pregnant, was enjoying a quiet afternoon in the garden with Marcus when a knock at the mansion door broke their peace. Camille went to open it, only to find the family lawyer from the Levett estate, flanked by a group of hooded men and police officers, surrounding the house.
“Excuse me? Who are you looking for?” she asked nervously.
“This is the Bartz family residence?”
“Yes!”
“Is Mr. Marcus Bartz home?”
“Yes… Who’s asking?”
“I’m the attorney representing the Levett family. I have a warrant for Mr. Marcus Bartz’s arrest on charges of kidnapping Mr. Frank Levett.”
Camille gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in shock.
“Camille, who is it?” Marcus’s voice called from inside.
“Marcus…” she stammered.
“Yes, tell me.”
The lawyer waved the police forward. “Gentlemen, proceed”
“Wait! No! This is private property. You can’t just barge in here!” Camille protested, stepping in their path.
“Ma’am, step aside, or I’ll have to arrest you for obstructing justice,” a police commander warned.
Marcus appeared in the doorway, bewildered by the scene. Before he could process what was happening, two men grabbed him by the arms.
“Mr. Marcus Bartz?”
“Yes! Who the hell do you think you are?” Marcus yelled, struggling to free himself.
“We have a warrant for your arrest on charges of kidnapping and attempted murder of Judge Frank Levett.”
“What?”
“You’d better not resist. If you have an attorney, your family should contact them.”
As the officers cuffed him, Valerie stepped out of the house carrying a coffee cup. The cup shattered as it hit the ground when she saw her husband being escorted away in handcuffs under heavy security.
“Valerie, sweetheart, I don’t know what’s going on!” Marcus shouted as she ran toward him.
“Call Frederick!” Valerie yelled at Camille, “Tell him what’s happening!”
“What do I tell him, Vale?” Camille asked, her voice shaking.
“Tell him they’ve taken Marcus in handcuffs! I don’t know what’s happening, but I’m following them to wherever they’re taking him.”

Ignoring her advanced pregnancy, Valerie jumped into her car and followed the convoy. Camille quickly called Frederick, who wasted no time assembling the best legal team he could find. He didn’t yet understand the situation, but one thing was clear–they were in serious trouble.
At the Palmer estate, one of the servants noticed a convoy of police cars and unfamiliar vehicles arriving at the gates. Alarmed, he rushed to inform the butler, who had recently started working for the family. The butler promptly reported the situation to Emma.
“Mrs. Emma… There’s a group of men outside, along with an attorney representing Mr. Leonardo Palmer. They have an eviction order for everyone on this property.”
“What? Call Maximus immediately! Try to reach him. This can’t be happening–what the hell do they think they’re doing?”
“What should we do, ma’am?”
“Keep trying to reach Maximus. We need to do something.
“I’ve called his mobile several times already, but he’s not answering.”
“What’s going on, Emma?” Serenity asked, appearing in the room.
“Serene! There’s a group of people outside trying to evict us. They say they have a court order. I haven’t let them in.”
“Have you spoken to Maximus?”
“The butler is trying to reach him, but he’s not answering
“Let me try.”
Serenity dialed Maximus’s number repeatedly, but it kept going unanswered. Frustrated, she tried calling Matthew’s number, only to find that his phone was turned off.
“Damn it!” she muttered as she heard commotion outside. The intruders had gained access to the mansion.
A black SUV with tinted windows pulled up in front of the house. One of the bodyguards stepped out and addressed the family. “Come on, everyone, get in. We need to get Mr. Palmer’s children out of here immediately.” Serenity hesitated, distrust flickering in her mind, but the men’s convincing tone and their professional demeanor made her doubts fade. She, Emma, Laura, and her siblings climbed into the vehicle.
Something strange began to happen shortly after they were in the car. One by one, everyone started to feel drowsy until they fell asleep. When Serenity woke up, she found herself in an unfamiliar, dimly lit room. Her hands and feet were bound, and none of her family members were with her–not Emma, not Laura, not her siblings. Panic surged through her as she screamed for help, writhing and pulling against the restraints.
