Peter was tired. He was constantly traveling back and forth between Valentia and Slovenia. The fact that Frank showed up with his father had complicated things. And second, that Frank Levett, the son, would show up with his father and have Marcus thrown in jail.
No matter how much he thought about a possible solution, without making his existence visible, he still couldn’t find a way; in the end, he knew that the only thing left for him was to appear and defend the man who, in his past, had been his best friend. In reality, when he thought about it, it irritated him somewhat, but it was what he had to do. The woman he had once loved madly was now suffering because of Marcus and him. Peter turned to look at the woman beside him, smiled, and said, “Nothing, beautiful! Just work stuff. Now that Peter is out, I have to handle more things…”
“If you want, I can help you organize your stuff… I don’t know anything about what you do, but at least I could help you stay organized…”
Peter took the woman’s hand, kissed it, and said, “Don’t worry, beautiful! It’s just for a while. Everything’s fine! Do you want to grab something to eat now that we’re out of the house?”
“Sure! I could use a little outing.
“How are your painting classes going?”
“Good! I’ve learned to master several techniques, and I even took the chance to learn a bit about painting restoration… The teacher is very strict, but it helps me improve.
“I’m glad to hear that. I know I haven’t been home much, but I promise that once I finish this pending task, I’ll be spending more time with you.”
“Don’t worry, the last thing I want is to be a burden…. It’s enough that you’re paying my bills. Believe me, once I can work, I’ll pay you back every penny you’ve spent.”
“Celeste, I’m not charging you for that. I care about you, and I want the best for you.

Camille and Frederick were waiting for some news after the C–section. Although it was scheduled, nothing could keep them from being more at ease once they saw Dr. Baker When the door finally opened and they saw her step out, smiling, they knew everything had gone well.
“Everything went well, Camille! Mrs. Bartz has brought two beautiful babies into the world–a boy and a girl. For now, the little ones will be in the incubator, and we’ll monitor how they adjust to their new environment. On the other hand, Mrs. Bartz is also fine. She’s just in recovery now. Once we move her to her room, I’ll let you know. In the meantime, take the opportunity to grab something to eat or rest. You’ll have about two hours available.”
