Serenity looked at the man, who noticed the young woman’s gaze and turned to look at the two women watching him intently. Not understanding their looks, he just smiled and went back to playing with the kids.
The young woman blushed as she remembered how they had developed a nighttime routine since they arrived. They took advantage of the fact that Emma, Laura, and the kids would fall asleep to go for walks in the evenings For the first two or three days, they kept their distance, but then Alden began taking her hand. “What are you looking at?” Alden said, glancing at the woman beside him.
“Nothing!” Serenity responded, embarrassed.
“Are you sure?” the young man said, raising an eyebrow.
“Alden…”
“Yes, tell me…”
“What’s going on between us?”
“How do you mean?”
“Yes… What is it that we’re doing?”
“Well… Right now, we’re walking along the beach…”
“Alden!”
The young man couldn’t help but laugh at the annoyed expression on Serenity’s face.
“I’m being serious, Alden! And you’re just playing around. The young woman turned to head back.
Alden, seeing this, firmly held Serenity’s hand and pulled her toward him. Her delicate body collided with his strong frame, and the scent of him filled her senses. He placed his hands on her waist and said:

The girl froze, and the young man slowly leaned closer to her face, pressing his lips to hers. As soon as she felt it, Serenity’s stomach fluttered with butterflies, followed by a wave of heat when Alden pressed his body closer to hers. Slowly, the young man pulled back from the kiss and glaced his forehead against hers, saying:
“I think now you know what I want from you, but I need to know… What do you want from me?”
Serenity’s legs turned to jelly. If Alden hadn’t been holding her by the waist, she might have collapsed. In her mind, she remembered what Emma had said: “If you want to navigate these waters, you’ll probably encounter several storms. Are you both willing to face them?” For now, none of those who might oppose their desires were around. She knew it wasn’t a good idea, but for the first time, she wanted to experience what it was like to have a relationship, to know what it felt like to have someone by her side–not like her parents did.
Without thinking any further or measuring the consequences of her decision, she said:
“I want you! I want to be with you! I want something with you! I like you…!”
Alden held her tighter, and they both collapsed onto the sand. He couldn’t stop kissing her full lips. Serenity, for her part, felt something inside her demanding more. She couldn’t describe what she was feeling, but it was something she had only felt before with him–this pleasure coursing through her body when Alden stopped kissing her lips and began to kiss her neck.
The young man slowly began to unbutton the dress she was wearing. Being on the beach, he had seen her in those dresses more than once and was truly fascinated by how she looked.
