Neil’s heart pounded as he met Nancy’s inquisitive gaze, almost blurting out, “Of course I’m worried about Judson. I haven’t seen someone so perfectly fitting the NY Group in a long time.”
Mr. Buchanan keeping his identity a secret while dating Lena was a big deal. If things went south, it could lead
to disaster.
Nancy listened to Neil’s words, raising an eyebrow with a hint of skepticism. “Really? But given NY’s influence, even if Judson doesn’t cooperate, couldn’t you choose someone else?”
“We can’t,” Neil sighed softly, his face etched with worry. “If it were possible, we would have picked someone else by now.”
“Miss Lena, I can sense that Mr. Buchanan has genuine feelings for you. If you’re willing, maybe you could persuade him to support NY?”
Nancy paused for a moment, her expression unchanged despite Neil’s hopeful eyes. She smiled gently, “Alright.”
Whether Judson was willing to come or not was something she wouldn’t force.
Just as Nancy’s voice trailed off, the car came to a slow stop, and the driver respectfully announced, “Mr. Neil, we’ve arrived.”
Neil immediately acknowledged with a nod and offered his hand to Nancy with a gentlemanly flourish, “Miss Lena, please.”
As Neil and Nancy stepped into the venue, a limited edition Maybach pulled up nearby.
Judson emerged from the car, watching the direction Nancy had gone, a contemplative smile playing on his lips.
Neil’s entrance with Nancy immediately drew everyone’s attention. Nancy, in her stunning purple velvet evening gown, perfectly tailored to her figure, caught eyes everywhere. The dress accentuated her waist and showed off her long legs as she moved gracefully. Her hair was styled in elegant curls, pinned up with a simple clip, leaving a couple of strands to frame her face.
Her refined features wore a subtle makeup look, her eyes carrying an intriguing mix of allure and an unapproachable clarity that discouraged any disrespect.
“Wow, where did Neil find such a gem?”
“Being beautiful is one thing, but she’s Lena! She just struck a deal with Neil. I heard Neil even sidelined Mathew and Susan for her…”
“Heh, I’d do the same if I were you. It’s been forever since I’ve seen someone so captivating.”
Nancy remained indifferent to the stares cast her way, while Neil’s expression darkened slightly, his gaze sweeping across the room to quell the onlookers.
Once satisfied, he turned to Nancy, saying, “Lena, don’t mind what they think. Once they see your jewelry designs, they’ll understand your talent.”
Nancy nodded subtly, “I know it.”
“I need to make some preparations first. We’ll announce our collaboration soon, and then we’ll need you to take the stage, Miss Lena.” Neil said respectfully.
Nancy smiled, “Of course.”
With that, Neil hurried off to make arrangements.

As soon as Neil left, some of the wealthy heirs in the room eyed Nancy with increasing interest.
Meanwhile, on the second floor, Michael leaned his chin on one hand, watching the scene unfold with amusement. He glanced over at the man seated nearby.
As expected, Judson’s handsome face had darkened, his eyes cold and brooding.
Michael chuckled, “Judson, it seems Nancy’s quite popular. Think she’ll be swayed by someone else?” Before Michael could finish, Judson’s icy gaze shot up, laced with an unmistakable warning.
Michael paused, “Judson, are you mad?”
“If you’re that free, why not spend some time at the training camp I run? We’re short a coach,” Judson suggested, his tone flat.
Michael’s face changed in an instant as he pleaded, “Hey bro, I take it back, have mercy!”
Judson responded with a cold snort, and Michael couldn’t help but probe further, “Judson, it seems like you’ve got a thing for Nancy. What about that girl you’ve been hung up on since forever?”
Judson’s eyes stayed fixed on Nancy, a determined smile tugging at his lips, “Well, I plan to marry her, of course.”
“And Nancy…” Michael began, but the rest of his question hung in the air.
