Chapter 145
Judson listened to Nancy, feeling a bit down. “Yeah, I know.”
Nancy quickly leaned in, curiosity sparking in her eyes. “You know? Did you remember something?” she asked eagerly.
Judson let out a heavy sigh. “Do I need to remember something to know that? Nancy, that crazy guy kept shouting he was your husband, which means you two had a thing in the past–he’s your ex–boyfriend.”
Nancy’s fingers twitched at the mention of Cyrus, the guy who really did seem as unhinged as Judson described.
“Nancy, don’t worry about it. Everyone’s dated a few losers in their younger days. I’m an understanding guy; just don’t leave me, alright?”
Judson lifted Nancy’s hand to her mug of hot chocolate. “Don’t worry, ex–boyfriends have nothing on current husbands. If he comes around again, I’ll just show him the door!”
Nancy sighed with a hint of frustration. “Judson, is it possible that you might not actually be my current husband?”
Judson’s frustration was clear as he confronted Nancy. “Nancy, not this again!” he said, clearly upset. “You’re my wife. Don’t play games with me just because I’m having trouble with my memory. Or… are you thinking of leaving with him now that he’s shown up?”
Nancy sensed the tension in Judson’s words. She blurted out, “I’d never go with him.”
In the past, she might have been foolish enough to give up everything, but not now.
She was determined to build her career, to become a renowned designer known in every household.
Judson visibly relaxed and quickly kissed Nancy’s cheek.
“That’s my Nancy! I knew you wouldn’t leave me. You only made a mistake once.”
Nancy felt a warm flush on her face, her heart skipping a beat. But seeing Judson’s innocent eyes, she could only muster a complicated nod.
She really had made a mistake only once.
As for her and Judson, she didn’t need to leave him. Eventually, when Judson regained his memory, he’d probably decide to leave on his own.
Thinking of this, Nancy took a sip of her hot chocolate, the rich sweetness calming her nerves and easing her
restlessness.
A wave of drowsiness crept in.
Her eyelids grew heavy, her thoughts drifting away.
Judson’s familiar voice, filled with concern, reached her. “Nancy, are you sleepy? You haven’t rested well these past few days, and today was hectic. Then running into your ex…”
Nancy mumbled a soft acknowledgment, barely hearing Judson’s words before her head lolled to the side, and she drifted off on the couch.
Only then did Judson stand up, gently lifting Nancy into his arms.
He kissed her forehead, his eyes filled with unwavering tenderness and love. “Sleep well, Nancy. Goodnight.”
He would handle Cyrus!

“If you try to break in again, we’ll have to report you for trespassing, and then it’s not our fault if things get serious!”
Cyrus glared, his face dark with anger, while Caleb stood by, too afraid to even breathe.
The tension was palpable.
Suddenly, Cyrus kicked the car in frustration.
“Damn it, who the hell is that pretty boy?”
Listening to Cyrus‘ raging, Caleb wished he could just shrink into himself like a scared turtle.
“Find out. I want to know who he is by tonight!” Cyrus snapped, turning sharply towards Caleb.
Caleb nodded instinctively, but before he could respond, a car pulled up beside them.
