Chapter 147 

Cyrus listened to Baldrick’s words, his face burning with embarrassment, yet strangely, he felt a sense of relief deep down. 

“So, Baldrick, you’re saying there’s nothing between Nancy and Judson?” 

Baldrick gave a sarcastic laugh. “And what do you think there should be between them? Or is it that you wish there was something?” 

“Of course not!” Cyrus blurted out. 

Nancy was his wife, after all! 

Baldrick smirked. “Good, because there’s not. Judson lost his memory saving Nancy, and that’s why she’s taking care of him.” 

Cyrus‘ eyes widened slightly. “Really?” 

Baldrick shrugged casually. “Believe whatever you like, but Nancy left everything behind to come here because of you. I don’t think she’d go back with you now.” 

Cyrus‘ face darkened once more. “This is between me and Nancy. It’s none of your business.” 

Oh, but it might be! Baldrick thought silently, amusement flickering in his gaze as he looked at Cyrus. “Well, we’ll see about that.” 

With that, he opened the car door and slid inside. 

The door shut with a thud, and the driver started the car, pulling away. 

Once they were out of sight, Cyrus turned away, his expression growing more severe by the moment. 

Caleb, standing nearby, spoke in a low voice, “Mr. Gordon, since the Robertson family is in trouble, Farley Robertson has already joined The Robertson Group. Mr. Robertson won’t be able to stay in Ardenweald for long.” 

“I know, and Farley is finally showing some promise,” Cyrus replied, his tone grim. 

Caleb was taken aback by Cyrus‘ comment. “Mr. Gordon, was it you who…” 

Before he could finish, Cyrus shot him a warning glance. 

In an instant, Caleb understood. 

So, Mr. Gordon had a hand in Farley’s smooth entrance into The Robertson Group! 

Cyrus let out a cold chuckle. Knowing that both Baldrick and Nancy were in Ardenweald, he couldn’t possibly let them stay together. 

He had to find a way to get Baldrick out of Ardenweald. 

But he hadn’t expected there to be another man by Nancy’s side. 

Judson. 

Every time Cyrus thought about Judson’s intense demeanor or the way he held Nancy and called her his wife, it made his blood boil. 

“Caleb, I want every piece of information on Judson. Leave no stone unturned,” Cyrus ordered, his voice steely. 

Caleb nodded quickly. “Yes, sir.” 

Just as Caleb was about to get in touch with his team, he heard Cyrus continue, speaking in a thoughtful tone, “And while you’re at it, buy me a…”

Chapter 14 

“Mr. Robertson, why did you tell Mr. Gordon about Judson?” Baldrick’s assistant, sitting in the front seat, couldn’t help but ask. 

He had been with Baldrick for many years. 

He knew all too well how much Baldrick liked Nancy. 

Baldrick stared out the window at the passing scenery, his lips pressed into a thin line. “Judson’s my rival, and 

so is Cyrus.” 

The assistant paused, then quickly understood. “You’re right, Mr. Robertson!” 

Let the lions fight. 

No matter who wins or loses, Mr. Robertson stands to gain! 

A trace of regret flickered in Baldrick’s eyes. He couldn’t stay in Ardenweald to see Nancy for now. 

So, he’d just have to stir things up between Judson and Cyrus. 

The night outside grew darker. 

Baldrick’s phone buzzed softly. 

Judson glanced at Nancy, sleeping peacefully beside him, undisturbed by the noise. He slipped out of bed carefully. 

Once outside the room, Judson answered the call, his face serious. “Hello.” 

“Judson, hope I’m not interrupting you and the missus,” Michael’s laid–back voice came through the line.
