Chapter 153
Nancy looked at Judson, who was all serious, and couldn’t resist teasing him. “So, how exactly are you planning to sell your charms? You’re not thinking of, I don’t know, using the casting couch, are you?”
Judson blushed at her words, a shy smile on his face. “Nancy, am I that kind of man without any morals? I’d only sell myself to you. At most, I’d just flash a charming smile at Neil.”
Nancy internally rolled her eyes, dismissing the idea with a silent chuckle.
“No, you’re not, and I don’t need you to sell yourself,” she thought.
“I’m serious, Nancy,” Judson insisted, his eyes fixed on her with genuine intensity. “Don’t worry, I can take care of you.”
Anyone could see he wasn’t joking. His clear eyes met hers with a sincerity that was hard to ignore.
“I don’t need you to. I have plenty of money to buy my own house,” Nancy said, her heart racing a little as she avoided his gaze. She reached into the drawer for some ointment to apply to Judson’s bruises.
“So, Nancy can take care of me? We could move somewhere new!” Judson’s face lit up with excitement.
Nancy felt a weight lift from her heart, nodding slightly. “Yes, we could move somewhere else. Besides, haven’t I been supporting you all along?”
She thought of her collaborations with companies like NY and Baldrick, and her studio’s profits over the years. Buying a couple of prime–location houses wasn’t out of reach.
Judson cheered, “That’s great! We can finally shut the door on all the drama and just live our lives.”
Nancy didn’t reply. Even if things with Judson didn’t work out, she wasn’t going to give Cyrus any opportunities. Given Cyrus‘ obsessive nature, it wouldn’t be surprising if he tried to drag her back to his side by force.
With that thought, Nancy gave Judson a gentle nudge. “Judson, I need to get back to work.”
Judson obediently stood up, quickly planting a kiss on her cheek. “Nancy, give it your best! I’ll be right outside waiting for you.”
He dashed out, leaving Nancy standing there, bemused.
Well, she thought, they definitely needed to have a talk about these surprise kisses. But right now, the priority was finding a new place.
With that in mind, Nancy picked up her phone and dialed a number. “Lenard, I need a favor…”
Meanwhile, in the restroom, Michael was on the phone with Judson.
“Nancy’s thinking of buying a house?” Michael sounded surprised, then seemed to realize something. “Wait, did Cyrus buy a place near Nancy?”
Judson’s face darkened at the mention, a cold huff escaping his lips.
Michael, catching on, chuckled through the phone. “So, where do you plan on having her buy?”
Judson’s face remained inscrutable, with a slight smirk just hinting at his lips. After a moment, Michael’s voice, tinged with tease, broke the silence again. “Understood. I’ll have someone pass the message along.”
As he hung up, Judson’s eyes were filled with determination. He was curious to see how long Cyrus thought he could continue intruding on their turf.
Once Nancy had finished discussing the house, she focused back on her work. Cyrus‘ sudden appearance, including moving next door, had caught her off guard. But work had to go on.
Alongside her collaborations with The NY Group, there was the looming Potter event, only a month away. It was set in the same prestigious venue as the Oscars, attracting all the major players. As one of the main investors, Potter was set to make a significant impact.

Nancy glanced at the sketches on her desk. This was her chance to solidify her standing in the industry.
By the time Nancy looked up again, it was already the end of the workday. Just as she put down her pen, Judson walked through the door, looking a bit like a kicked puppy.
“Nancy, I’m starving,” he whined.
Nancy stretched, grabbing her car keys. “Let’s go get something to eat,” she said, handing them to Judson.
