Judson’s eyes turned icy. “You really think that kind of money is going to scare my wife off? Dream on.”
With that, Judson gripped Nancy’s hand again and raised their bidding paddle.
“Two hundred million.”
The words dropped like pebbles into a still pond, sending ripples through the entire room.
Everyone was stunned.
Nancy couldn’t help but glance at Judson. “Judson…”
“What are you worried about?” Judson whispered in her ear, “We were planning to collaborate with NY on this paint deal anyway. I’ll just negotiate a higher signing fee with Neil!”
Nancy’s fingers paused, seeing the determination etched on Judson’s face. She knew he was serious.
Cyrus was attempting to buy her compliance. However, Judson preferred to charm Neil into a deal and earn more, rather than let that happen.
Nancy grinned slightly. “Relax, two hundred million isn’t enough to make you do anything undignified.”
Cyrus watched the two of them whispering, visibly irritated. He knew Judson was doing this on purpose.
Unable to hold back any longer, he snapped, “Judson, do you even have two hundred million? What are you even trying to do here?”
Judson shrugged off the accusation with a smile. “Whether I do or not, the auction house will find out soon enough.”
“Indeed, given that Judson has Lena’s Studio backing him,” Nancy added coolly.
With Lena’s Studio collaborating with The Sandro Group, business was booming.
Earning two hundred million was entirely plausible.
Cyrus, seething as he saw Nancy siding with Judson, raised his paddle sharply. “Three hundred million! And from now on, I’ll outbid anyone by fifty million more!”
But before he could finish his sentence-
“Five hundred million!”
From the front row, Michael smirked, a hint of mischief in his eyes. “Showing off wealth, are we? Let’s see how many here can outbid Mr. Green.”
Most of the room’s expressions shifted instantly.
Even Cyrus and Nancy turned their attention to Michael.
Sarah couldn’t help but ask incredulously, “Mr. Ferguson, what do you mean by that?”
“Evergreen Global informed me that Lena is their new partner,” Michael said. “They’ve instructed me to acquire whatever she desires, no matter the cost.”
With that, Michael gestured to the auctioneer.
The auctioneer looked momentarily dazed.
The crowd was abuzz with excitement.
“Mr. Ferguson just called the big guns!”
“So Mr. Ferguson–or rather, Mr. Green–won’t hesitate to outbid everyone for this paint!”
Michael’s gaze swept over Judson, noting his calm demeanor, and felt assured he was doing the right thing.

Then his eyes landed on Cyrus, whose face was now noticeably grim.
“Cyrus, judging by your discontent, you wouldn’t be doubting Mr. Green’s wealth, would you? Or do you want to call the big guns too?”
Though unofficial, there was an unwritten rule at the Ardenweald auction house: calling the big guns meant you were committed to winning the bid, no matter the expense.
Cyrus clenched his jaw, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Sarah squeezed Cyrus‘ hand. “Cyrus, let it go. I’m worried Evergreen Global might target your company next. Besides, Evergreen Global doesn’t even favor Nancy.”
Cyrus pursed his lips, his mind drifting to his branch in Ardenweald, and he couldn’t help but glance at Nancy.
Nancy remained unperturbed, though internally she was puzzled. She hadn’t expected Evergreen Global to intervene again.
Just like at the business conference when Evergreen Global announced a permanent collaboration with her.
Now, they were bidding on her behalf again…
Was Evergreen Global really going to such lengths for her?
