Without waiting for Nancy to calm down, Judson held her hand tightly.
“Nancy, don’t worry. I know the folks over at Evergreen Global are going to get involved with this paint.”
Judson flashed a grin. “Once the Rose Crown hits the market, we’re not just talking millions; we’re talking billions.”
Nancy’s fingers paused briefly, a complex expression crossing her face. She muttered an affirmative sound.
Just as her voice trailed off, Michael spoke up: “Does anyone else have any objections? If not, this paint goes to Evergreen Global and Lena.”
Everyone exchanged glances, but no one dared to speak. The room was filled with a heavy silence.
The auctioneer quickly struck the gavel. “Five million once, five million twice, five million thrice. No higher bids. The premium crimson pigment goes to Mr. Ferguson.”
Michael nodded with satisfaction. “Good, let’s move on to the next item.”
The auctioneer immediately announced, “Alright, let’s prepare the next piece…”
Despite his words, everyone’s thoughts remained on the fierce bidding that had just taken place.
Cyrus‘ reputation preceded him. If anyone wanted to invest in Sunhaven, they couldn’t bypass Cyrus. Just like in Ardenweald, one had to deal with Evergreen Global, or else they wouldn’t be considered a major player.
As the auction drew to a close, people began to focus more on the items being auctioned. Twenty minutes later, it was officially over.
The auctioneer returned to the stage to express his sincere thanks to Evergreen Global and Michael. The money raised far exceeded expectations.
Just as the event was about to disperse, Michael approached Judson and Nancy.
“Miss Lena, I bid on the paint on behalf of Evergreen Global, and since they’re your partners, you should go
collect it.”
Nancy hesitated, taken aback by Michael’s directness.
“I’m not sure about this. If I collect the paint, I’ll have to sign for it.”
After all, it was a charity auction, and whoever signed their name would be credited with the donation.
“The folks from Evergreen Global aren’t here, so it’s yours.”
Michael turned to Judson with a questioning glance, “Right, Mr. Buchanan?”
Judson didn’t respond directly but squeezed Nancy’s hand. “Nancy, you should go sign for it. I worry Cyrus might corner you later.”
Nancy furrowed her brow, glancing at Cyrus, who was chatting with others while keeping an eye on her.
She decided not to argue further. “Okay, but stay here. Don’t wander off.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Once Nancy was out of earshot, Judson and Michael exchanged a knowing look and moved to a secluded
corner.
Michael rubbed his nose. “Judson, I hope I didn’t cause you any trouble. Your wife won’t figure out you’re behind Evergreen Global, will she?”
“Not yet, but she will eventually,” Judson replied, his gaze fixed on Cyrus with a hint of menace.
“Any dirt on Cyrus yet?”

“We’re getting there.”
“Keep digging.” Judson’s voice was icy as he glanced discreetly at Sarah. “And deal with the Hernandez family.”
Sarah might trouble Nancy, but Judson wouldn’t tolerate it.
“Understood.”
Meanwhile, surrounded by others, Cyrus watched as the auctioneer approached.
He turned to the others, “Apologies, I need to go sign off on something. We can discuss any partnerships in detail tomorrow; I’ll be in Ardenweald for a while.”
“Of course, Mr. Gordon.”
With that, Cyrus turned and left.
