Sarah stood there, her eyes filled with nothing but love. She thought she could forget Cyrus, but who would have guessed he’d show up in Ardenweald?
“Just wait,” she thought to herself. “This time, I’ll make sure Cyrus is mine.”
Nancy scribbled her name and that of Evergreen Global on the document, accepting the paint from the auctioneer with a smile. “Thank you,” she said warmly.
“Miss Lena, it’s our pleasure,” the auctioneer replied earnestly. “I’m sure the recipients of your donation will be thrilled.”
“You can check the paint, Miss Lena. If everything’s in order, you’re free to go.”
“Alright,” Nancy replied coolly.
After the auctioneer exited and the door clicked shut, Nancy unwrapped the package to inspect the paint. Satisfied, she repacked it and was just about to leave when the door creaked open again. Nancy looked up and smiled, thinking the auctioneer had returned. “The paint’s fine. Oh, Cyrus, why are you here?”
Her smile vanished instantly, replaced by a hardened expression.
Cyrus closed the door behind him, meeting Nancy’s wary gaze with a resigned sigh. “Nancy, I donated without even signing my name just to have a chance to talk to you.”
“I don’t think we have much to discuss,” Nancy replied, her face set like stone.
“How is that possible?” Cyrus demanded, clenching his fists as he strode over to her.
His imposing figure loomed over Nancy, casting a shadow that seemed to swallow the light around her.
The scent of Cyrus filled the air, and Nancy instinctively stepped back, but his hand shot out, gripping her wrist firmly.
“Nancy,” Cyrus‘ voice was tight with emotion. “Do you have any idea how frantic I’ve been searching for you? Why did you erase your identity and leave me, ending up here?”
“You know I’ve been losing my mind trying to find you, don’t you? Yet here you are, collaborating with Baldrick, working with The NY Group, and even having Judson by your side! How could you trample on my heart like this?”
Nancy’s face turned cold, her gaze meeting Cyrus‘ reddened eyes without flinching.
“Cyrus, do you really not know why I left?”
Cyrus stared into her clear, unwavering eyes, a sudden wave of panic gripping him.
“Are you talking about Hayley? But I swear, there’s nothing between me and Hayley. Her child isn’t mine; it’s Norton Patel’s.”
“Nancy, you’re the only one in my heart, but you shouldn’t have pushed Hayley off the balcony at the party. How could you put me in such a position with Norton?”
Nancy’s lips curled into a smile, but it was laced with sarcasm and disdain.
“The child is Norton’s, is it?”
Cyrus‘ expression darkened, unease growing within him.
“So when Hayley has the baby, you’re not planning to bring it into the Gordon family to raise, are you?” Nancy’s voice was sharp with mockery.

Cyrus‘ face reddened with irritation at her comment. “The child would call you mom and me dad. Isn’t that what you would expect?”
“And what about a child between me and Judson? Would you raise that one too?” Nancy pressed on, relentless. Cyrus froze, his eyes widening as her words sank in. “Nancy, did you–did you let Judson…”
