“Who doesn’t know Miss Lena just teamed up with NY? Relax, Mr. Green said he’d sort it out for you.”
Nancy sat on the couch, appearing completely unfazed. She was just about to speak when Judson approached with a plate of freshly washed strawberries. “Nancy, have some fruit,” he offered.
“Hold on a sec.” Nancy glanced at Judson before turning back to the phone. “Mr. Neil, does Mr. Green know me? It seems like he’s stood up for me more than once.”
Neil sounded a bit caught off guard. “Uh, not really… I mean…”
Judson’s expression remained calm, but there was a subtle shift in his gaze. Silently, he peeled an orange and handed it to Nancy.
The atmosphere suddenly felt a bit tense.
Nancy took the orange but didn’t eat it right away. Instead, she said seriously, “I’ve heard about Mr. Green’s way of handling things. He’s not exactly known for being so… benevolent.”
“No, he really is benevolent!” Neil, aware that Judson was right there with Nancy, quickly defended. “Miss Lena, you must be mistaken about Mr. Green. He has a soft spot for talented individuals, and Miss Lena, you are definitely one of them.”
“So it’s only natural for Mr. Green to have your back! It’s getting late, I won’t interrupt your time with Judson any longer.”
With that, Neil hastily hung up.
Nancy listened to the dial tone, feeling a lingering sense of oddness. Was it really no problem?
After all, Evergreen Global’s reputation in the industry wasn’t exactly on the kind–hearted side.
Before Nancy could dwell on it, she felt a weight on her shoulder.
She looked down to find Judson leaning against her, eyes wide and cheeks puffed in mock annoyance. “Nancy I’m your husband. Stop thinking about other men!”
Nancy looked at Judson’s pouty face and couldn’t resist teasing him, “You’re not my husband.”
Judson’s expression turned dramatically shocked, and he spun around, back facing Nancy. “I’m mad now! You’re scaring me with your nonsense again!”
His tone said one thing, but his body language screamed: Hurry up and comfort me.
Nancy let out an amused sigh and tossed an apple to Judson. “Peel this for me, will you? I don’t eat the skin.”
Though Judson was still pretending to be upset, he picked up the peeler and started diligently peeling the apple. Just as he was about to playfully nick himself to make Nancy worry, she casually remarked, “If you get cut and make me worry, you can sleep on the floor tonight. Forget the couch.”
This hotel didn’t have a presidential suite, just a luxurious king–sized bed.
Judson immediately focused on peeling the apple carefully. “Nancy, don’t worry~ I’ll be careful.”
He wasn’t about to sleep on the floor, and he certainly wasn’t planning on settling for the couch either.
Meanwhile, at the Hernandez family estate….
Sarah had just walked in and barely had time to process her surroundings when she was met with a harsh slap.

Sarah was left reeling from the blow. She looked up at her father, whose face was etched with anger, and exclaimed, “Dad, have you lost your mind? How could you hit me like that?

Andrew, fuming at her words, grabbed Sarah by the neck. “You ungrateful child! Who told you to bid against Lena?”
“She’s auctioning that paint to partner with Evergreen Global for their new jewelry line! And you had the nerve to antagonize Lena!”
“Do you realize going against Lena is like declaring war on Evergreen Global? Now they’ve blacklisted the
Hernandez family. Satisfied now?”
