Chapter 170

Judson reluctantly let go, wrapping Nancy in a warm embrace and burying his head into the crook of her neck. “Goodnight, my Nancy,” he murmured.

The next morning.

Nancy was still half–asleep when her phone buzzed. It was a call from Lenard.

“Hello?” she mumbled groggily.

“Nancy! You won’t believe this! Either I’m incredibly lucky, or you are. The last villa in Maple Grove Residences–you know, that upscale neighborhood?-just went on sale yesterday, and it’s at a huge discount!”

Nancy’s eyes flew open. “Are you sure Maple Grove Residences is offering a discount?”

When she was house hunting in Ardenweald, she had her heart set on Maple Grove Residences. The security was top–notch, the scenery was breathtaking, nestled between the hills and a sparkling lake. Only the elite could afford homes there, especially those with a view of all Ardenweald from the top floor.

Securing a place there was harder than winning the lottery and far more expensive. She had to let go of that

dream.

“Absolutely! I’ve already reserved a spot for you. Just give them your name. Get up and head over. I’ll finish this draft for Potter and meet you there.”

“No rush. Take your time,” Nancy chuckled, hanging up the phone.

As soon as she put her phone down, a strong arm wrapped around her waist. Before she could process what was happening, Nancy found herself pulled into a warm embrace. The familiar scent of Judson’s cologne enveloped her.

Nancy turned her head and found Judson staring at her, his gaze unwavering. Her heart did a little flip–flop.

“Nancy good morning. Who was that? You sound so happy,” Judson teased, a hint of jealousy in his voice.

Nancy burst into laughter. “Judson, you’re in my bed again! Didn’t I tell you to sleep on the couch?”

Judson pouted. “The couch is uncomfortable, and you curl up when you sleep. The moment I lay down, you snuggle right into me… and you, uh, felt my abs.”

Nancy’s cheeks flamed red, and she shot back, “Nonsense, I did not-” Before she could finish her sentence, Judson took her hand and slid it under his shirt, revealing his well–defined abs.

Nancy’s eyes widened at the sight of his smooth, toned muscles. His skin was fairer than most women’s, and she quickly averted her gaze, feeling her mouth go dry.

“What’s wrong with you? Who wants to see that?!” she stammered, flustered, as she scrambled out of bed and dashed to the bathroom.

As he watched her retreat with flushed cheeks, Judson couldn’t help but smirk with satisfaction. Nancy was clearly embarrassed; maybe she did like it after all. The thought made him want to kiss her.

Ten minutes later, Nancy emerged, looking more composed. But as soon as Judson’s eyes met hers, she snapped, “What are you looking at? Go freshen up; we’ve got a house to see.”
