Sarah’s heart skipped a beat, but she kept her cool and said, “Thanks, Evan.”
“No worries, let’s head over,” Evan replied.
Sarah nodded eagerly, itching to see Nancy’s plan blow up in her face. Buying a house? Yeah, right. She probably couldn’t even get an appointment–those were all reserved for people with connections last night.
At the reception desk.
“Hi, I’m Lena. I made an appointment last night,” Nancy said casually.
The receptionist quickly scanned her computer screen, then stood up respectfully. “I’ll take you to see the house right away, Miss Lena.”
Nancy gave a slight nod, not needing to say more.
“What? You actually got an appointment?” Sarah exclaimed, her voice laced with disbelief. “The receptionist must have made a mistake.”
Nancy and Judson turned their attention back to Sarah, a flicker of irritation passing through Judson’s eyes. Clearly, the Hernandez family hadn’t been punished enough last night, leaving Sarah to keep pestering Nancy. The receptionist blinked, then answered truthfully, “No mistake. Miss Lena was the first to book for Maple Grove Residences last night.”
Sarah’s fingers paused, her expression turning to one of annoyance. “Nancy, what trick did you use to get that appointment?”
Even Sarah hadn’t managed to snag one without calling in a favor from Cyrus.
Cyrus, listening to Sarah, aimed a probing and dissatisfied look at Nancy.
Nancy’s expression remained cool. “How I got the appointment is none of your business. I’m buying this house “You!” Sarah fumed, then looked pitifully at Cyrus. “Evan…”
Cyrus remained silent, a slight frown forming. “Nancy, you’re not buying that house. Sarah needs it more than you do. Let’s talk about Hayley when we get home.”
Caleb had already dug into it. Hayley hadn’t even added Nancy on social media. Hayley was innocent; Nancy had just tried to pin the blame on her.
Nancy’s eyes were filled with disdain as she replied, “There’s nothing to discuss between us, whether it’s about Hayley or buying a house.”
“Do you really think you’re being romantic or something?” Judson cut in sharply.
Cyrus frowned deeper, his sharp gaze landing on Judson. But Judson remained unfazed and continued, “You say you like Nancy, but you always choose someone else over her.”
Judson turned his gaze to Nancy, his eyes full of warmth. “Unlike me. I just want Nancy to have everything she desires. Clearly, I’m the one who truly cares for her. Aren’t I, Nancy?”
Nancy raised an eyebrow, her eyes full of affection as she looked at Judson. She playfully pinched his ear. “Yes, you are the best.”
Cyrus looked on, his face a mask of anger. He couldn’t hold back any longer and shouted, “Enough! Nancy and I are the real couple here. Who do you think you are?”
Judson wrapped an arm around Nancy’s slender waist, his gaze icy. “You’re mistaken. Here, Nancy and I are the couple. If anyone’s out of line, it’s you.”

Feeling the tension in the air, Cyrus‘ face twisted with displeasure.
Just then, a man in a sharp suit dashed in, addressing Cyrus with respect. “Mr. Gordon, my apologies for being late. I’ll take you to see the property right away.”
