“Don’t touch me!” Sarah shrieked, her face pale with fear. “Ethan, save me…”
Cyrus‘ gaze was glued to the direction Nancy had just left, lost in thought. Something clicked in his mind, and he abruptly shook off the hand that had reached for him.
He strode purposefully toward the door.
Why was Michael here today, of all days?
And how come he showed up at such a convenient moment, even willing to offer Nancy the house at half price?
Cyrus suddenly recalled how Michael kept looking in Nancy’s direction, but maybe he wasn’t really looking at
her.
Perhaps his gaze had been fixed on someone behind her… Judson.
Maple Grove Residences was the crème de la crème of Ardenweald’s elite neighborhoods.
From location to decor, it was nothing short of spectacular.
Nancy admired the minimalist design of the house, decked out in shades of black, white, and gray. It was understated yet clearly meticulous, with attention to detail evident in everything from the furniture to the lighting.
The living room boasted a plush, tan and white rug, and a vase with vibrant roses adorned the table.
Not to mention the floor–to–ceiling windows offered a breathtaking view of Ardenweald’s nightscape.
Michael grinned and said, “Miss Lena, you can move in right away if you like. And if the decor isn’t to your taste, feel free to redecorate.”
“The decor is fine; I actually quite like it. But…” Nancy paused.
Michael felt a pang of anxiety, glancing at Judson.
Judson smiled softly, gently squeezing Nancy’s fingers. “But what, Nancy?”
She didn’t answer Judson, instead scrutinizing Michael with a probing look.
“But are you sure about offering it to me at half price?”
It felt as if this villa had been specifically set aside for her.
Michael, fully aware of Nancy’s test, chuckled, “Miss Lena, The Sandro Group has skyrocketed by billions, and it’s still on the rise. I’m a businessman.”
“This villa, at half price? Heck, I’d let it go for a tenth of that if it meant partnering with The Ferguson Group.”
“Miss Lena, for me, it’s not about the money. I genuinely hope you can see my sincere desire to collaborate.” Michael’s earnestness was palpable.
Nancy’s lips curved into a slight smile, “A girl’s gotta like money, right?”
The once–tense atmosphere was suddenly lightened.
Judson let out a loud, exaggerated cough, eyes playfully narrowed at Nancy.
“Nancy, we’re here to check out the house! Go take a look at the bedroom.”
Nancy, seeing Judson’s mock jealousy, sighed, “Alright, fine. You wait here.”
As Nancy walked away, Lenard seemed to recall something and quickly followed her.
Soon, the spacious living room was left with just Judson and Michael.

Michael moved closer to Judson, his voice filled with concern. “Judson, do you think she’s figured us out?
“She got suspicious the moment you mentioned the half price. From now on, only reach out about the collaboration, nothing more,”
Judson’s words carried a warning, and Michael feigned a heartbroken expression. “But if I can’t see you, I’ll be miserable~”
“Get lost!” Judson shot him a glare before heading after Nancy,
Michael couldn’t help but chuckle. He had no real qualms about the villa or partnering with Nancy–it was all under Judson’s directive.
After all, Judson was desperate for Nancy to make it big.
In the master bedroom.
“Do you think Michael has a thing for you?” Lenard asked with utmost seriousness, his face more grave than ever before.
