The next morning, Nancy and Judson arrived bright and early.
Neil’s apologetic voice came through the phone. “Miss Lena, I’m really sorry. Something’s come up, and I won’t be able to make it until the afternoon. Feel free to enjoy the amusement park in the meantime.”
“No worries, take care of what you need to,” Nancy replied. She knew that business in The NY Group was bound to be demanding.
Just as she put down her phone, a fluffy, heart–shaped cotton candy appeared in front of her.
“Nancy, this is so sweet! It’s blueberry flavored,” Judson exclaimed, eyes sparkling with excitement.
Nancy watched him with a smile, put her phone in her pocket, and took a bite of the cotton candy. The rich blueberry flavor spread across her mouth.
“Is it good?” Judson asked, his deep eyes gleaming.
Nancy nodded. “It’s delicious.”
Before she could say anything else, Judson leaned in and took a bite of the cotton candy from her hand. Startled and on the verge of scolding him, she hesitated when Judson grinned and said, “Anything Nancy

Nancy rolled her eyes. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
Judson’s laughter deepened as he wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “Nancy, how about we try the roller coaster? It looks thrilling.”
Nancy raised an eyebrow. “Sure.”
She wasn’t picky about rides.
“Great, let’s go queue up,” Judson said eagerly, ready to lead Nancy to the line.
Just then, a voice that sounded vaguely familiar drifted over, tinged with a little shyness.
“Who’d have thought the folks from The Grey Group couldn’t make it? Well, Evan, let’s enjoy the park today. What do you feel like doing?”
A deeper, slightly impatient voice followed, “Anything’s fine. What do you want to do?”
Nancy paused, turning slightly to see Cyrus and Sarah not far off.
They weren’t the only ones who noticed; Cyrus also spotted Nancy, his eyes lighting up. “Nancy, what are you doing here… and why is Judson with you?!”
Nancy didn’t bother responding to Cyrus‘ accusatory tone.
Sarah, standing beside Cyrus, noted Nancy and Judson’s striking appearance and evident chemistry. Her jealousy flared, but she managed a smile. “Nancy, are you and Judson here on a date?”
Nancy shot Sarah a cool look, fully aware of her intentions.
Judson cut in sharply, “So, are you two here on a date as well?”
