“Nancy, can I?” Judson’s eyes were practically glowing with excitement. “Don’t worry, with me by your side, no one would dare harm you.”
Nancy couldn’t help but chuckle wryly. So Judson wasn’t here for the contract; he was here to tag along with
her.
Listening to Judson’s bold declaration, Neil felt his heart pounding in his chest. Seriously, who would dare mess with Nancy on Mr. Buchanan’s turf? That would be asking for trouble!
“Do you have anything else to say?” Judson’s tone was laced with impatience. “If not, Nancy and I are heading out.”
“There’s one more thing. I need to inform you about the signing fee and other terms. Consider if you can accept them,” Neil said quickly, his gaze flicking towards Nancy.
Nancy caught on immediately, opening the car door. “I’ll wait inside. You two carry on.”
Judson nodded obediently, waiting for the moment Nancy closed the car door.
Once the coast was clear, his expression turned icy as he lowered his voice. “Are we done here?”
Neil, suddenly flustered, stammered, “Second Young Master is back. He’s been asking about your whereabouts.”
Judson paused, then chuckled coldly, his face unreadable. “I see. You can go now.”
The little tail finally showed itself.
“Yes,” Neil replied, not daring to say another word as he dashed away.
Judson finally opened the car door, settling in beside Nancy.
The next moment, he caught Nancy’s curious gaze. “Judson, why do I get the feeling Neil’s pretty scared of you?”
“Scared of me?” Judson sounded genuinely surprised. “Are you serious? Am I that intimidating? Nancy, you’re just teasing me.”
“He’s really scared of you.”
Nancy’s tone was firm, and the thought of Neil being so deferential to Judson left her feeling strangely uneasy. “One might think you’re Neil’s high–ranking boss, Mr. Green.”
She ended with a probing look.
Judson’s expression remained unchanged. “If I really were the CEO of Evergreen Global, I’d have thrown Cyrus out of Ardenweald by now! And not just that–I’d keep Nancy at home, only allowed to look at me, and I’d rename Evergreen Global to Lena Corp.”
“Can’t you ever be serious?” Nancy sighed, sounding exasperated but feeling relieved on the inside. She was definitely overthinking things. Judson couldn’t possibly be the legendary Mr. Green.
If Judson were truly Mr. Green, the Green family would’ve come knocking ages ago. A figure of such stature going missing would have caused a major stir in high society.

But as Cyrus watched the fireworks still lighting up the sky, there was a rare moment of calm in his eyes.
With a hard look, Cyrus dialed Caleb’s number.
“Find out who tipped Nancy off about me setting off fireworks for Hayley! And while you’re at it, figure out how many social media accounts Hayley really has!”
On their wedding night, he’d promised Nancy an entire city’s worth of fireworks, even though the old man wasn’t fond of extravagance.
