Chapter 193

The NY dinner party seemed like the social event of the season, and nearly all the invitees had arrived fashionably early. The driveway was lined with luxury cars, and the room buzzed with the energy of big names and influential figures.

Judson and Nancy made their entrance and instantly became the center of attention. They were a sight to behold–Judson in a tailored black tuxedo and Nancy in a sleek black evening gown. They looked like they had stepped right out of a classic Hollywood movie, the perfect couple in matching outfits.

Whispers spread like wildfire among the guests.

“Isn’t that the designer Lena? Who’s the handsome guy with her?”

“Aren’t Lena and Mr. Sandro supposed to be an item? Did we get it wrong?”

Before the murmurs could settle, Lenard, sporting a crisp white suit and a slicked–back hairstyle, muscled his way through the crowd. He tried for a sophisticated look, but his candid demeanor quickly gave him away.

“Nancy, did you hear that Cyrus is here too? Did you bring Judson just to stake your claim?”

Nancy arched an eyebrow. “What?”

Cyrus, here? The very thought made her cringe, and Judson wore a look of disdain.

Just then, a ripple of excitement passed through the crowd.

“The Hernandez family showed up, can you believe it? Weren’t they blacklisted by Evergreen Global?”

“Maybe they’re trying to sneak in. Otherwise, why just send Sarah and her brother? And isn’t that Cyrus with them?”

“Sure is. He’s one of the big shots from Sunhaven, but it’s a mystery why he’s aligned with the Hernandezes. Now they’re both on Evergreen’s bad side.”

Nancy instinctively turned to see the newcomers entering the room. It was indeed Cyrus with Sarah and her brother. The moment Cyrus spotted Nancy, he made a beeline for her, eyes filled with admiration. “Nancy.”

But before he could say more, Judson stepped in front of Nancy, blocking Cyrus‘ path completely.

Cyrus‘ expression soured. “Move aside.”

Judson chuckled coldly. “You think you can make me?”

The tension hung thick in the air as the two men locked eyes, the room growing quiet with anticipation. Everyone loved a good drama, especially when it involved a beautiful woman caught between two admirers.

Meanwhile, upstairs, Michael, clad in a burgundy suit, radiated an effortless charm. He watched the scene unfold below with amused interest. Neil, standing beside him, couldn’t help but comment, “Mr. Ferguson, why did Mr. Buchanan let them in? He and Cyrus are clearly…”

“Rivals, you mean?” Michael smirked. “I don’t know what Judson’s game is, but he’s definitely up to something. Let’s see how this plays out.”

Michael gestured to Neil. “Come here, I need you to handle something…”

Downstairs, oblivious to the upstairs scheming, Cyrus clenched his fists, trying to catch a glimpse of Nancy past Judson.

“Nancy, I just want a minute to talk. It’s about the city fireworks…”

Nancy’s eyes hardened with a sardonic smile. “I have no interest in discussing that with you.”

Lenard, clueless about the ‘city fireworks, sensed the drama and played along. “Stop bringing up old stuff with Nancy, it’s gross.” He stood firm beside Judson, shielding Nancy.
