It was official: Evergreen Global had spoken.
“Evergreen Global: With all the online chatter, we never expected Miss Lena to be like this. Effective immediately, Evergreen Global is terminating our partnership with Miss Lena.”
Before this announcement, there was still some debate online about who had copied whom. But now, with Evergreen Global’s statement, it seemed clear that Lena was the one in the wrong.
In just thirty minutes, the tide turned completely. Everyone was accusing Lena of plagiarism, and some even photoshopped black–and–white images of Nancy.
Even Judson, usually calm and collected, looked surprised. As for Michael, his eyes were wide with disbelief.
“Who at Evergreen Global is crazy enough to pull this stunt? Could it be Mr. Grey…?” Michael’s thoughts were interrupted by the buzzing of his phone.
Nancy answered, her face stern. “Mr. Neil, what does this mean from Evergreen Global?”
Before Neil could respond, Judson snatched the phone from Nancy, his tone sharp. “Neil, if you really did this, you’re asking for trouble!”
Judson was furious. And when Judson was angry, it was never subtle.
Neil stammered on the other end, clearly anxious. “It was Mr. Grey who logged in and posted the statement. Don’t worry, Miss Lena; Evergreen Global will sort this out!”
But before Neil could finish, Judson hung up, turning sharply to Nancy. “Nancy, I’m going to give Neil a piece of my mind!”
Nancy shook her head slightly. “There’s no need. I have a plan to fight back. All I need is for Mr. Ferguson to do me a favor.”
“What do you need?” Baldrick asked without hesitation.
Nancy’s eyes glinted with determination. “If Mr. Grey was involved, then the sketches I created at the hospital might have been erased from the surveillance. Can you help me recover them?”
“Tomorrow, I want to expose everything.”
“Absolutely,” Michael agreed without a second thought. “I’ll get on it right away.”
With that, he left, and Lenard followed suit. Potter watched them leave and then faced Nancy, his expression
serious.
“Lena, you won’t have to endure this injustice for long. I’ll make sure Jenny gives you an explanation.” With that, he turned and left.
Winnie, thoughtful, glanced at Penny, then took Nancy’s hand. “Lena, go get some rest. We’ll win this
tomorrow.”
“I know. Lucy and her crew won’t be celebrating for long,” Nancy replied, her eyes steely.
She wasn’t as weak as they thought.
In the car, which was cruising smoothly along the road, Judson handed Nancy a bottle of water as they stopped at a red light. “Nancy, have some water.”
Nancy took a sip, her mind still elsewhere.
“Don’t worry, Nancy. Get a good night’s sleep. Michael will recover the video, and tomorrow we’ll turn the tables,” Judson reassured her softly.

Nancy smiled faintly. “I’m not worried. I didn’t just leave the sketches with Lenard. Having the video is just extra insurance.”
“That’s my Nancy, always thinking ahead,” Judson said proudly, lifting his chin.
Nancy nodded confidently. She never intended to rely on Cyrus in the first place. His boasts were meaningless.
Before Nancy could finish her train of thought, a wave of drowsiness washed over her, and she soon drifted into a deep sleep.
Half an hour later, the car came to a gentle stop.
Judson looked at the sleeping Nancy, carefully cradling her as he carried her to the bedroom. He laid her on the bed, tucked her in, and quietly left the room.
When Judson stepped outside again, Michael was pulling up in his car. “Is she asleep?”
Judson got into the car. “Yeah, she’s asleep. Have you managed to recover the video?”
“Still working on it. Cyrus has made his move; looks like he wants to force her back to Sunhaven.”
“Does he now?” Judson chuckled darkly. “Well, let’s see if Cyrus and Mr. Grey have what it takes.”
Mr. Grey wanted to draw him out? Fine. He’d oblige them. But they’d better be ready for what they were asking for.
