Chapter 3
Nancy’s face went pale instantly as she hurriedly said, “No, thanks!”
She knew Cyrus was capable of such things. And right then, she didn’t even want Cyrus to touch her! With that thought, Nancy quickly stepped back.
Disappointment flickered across Cyrus‘ chiseled features, assuming Nancy was still upset over yesterday’s incident. “Okay, I’ll wait for you downstairs.”
After Cyrus left, Nancy clenched her fists tightly, her eyes filled with hidden anguish.
‘Just a little longer.‘ She thought, ‘Wait fifteen days until everything is over, and then I can leave!
Before that, she absolutely couldn’t let any trouble arise. After all, in Sunhaven, if Cyrus wanted to keep her, she couldn’t escape.
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Nancy got ready and turned to walk out.
But before she got to the living room, a deep and charismatic voice said, “Stop messing around, I don’t have time for you today.”
A coquettish voice wafted from the other end of the phone, tinged with heavy dissatisfaction. “Cyrus, you said last night that you’d give all your time to me.”
Nancy froze, her body starting to tremble uncontrollably. The warmth drained from her face.
Seeing Cyrus standing in the living room, she felt her heart pierced with pain. Even though she already knew Cyrus was seeing someone else, hearing it was like a thousand cuts to her heart.
“Enough.” Cyrus‘ magnetic tone remained unchanged, but his eyes were cold and harsh. “Isn’t the gift I gave you this morning enough?”
Sensing Cyrus‘ displeasure, Hayley quickly backed off, “Sure, Cyrus, you’re so good to me! I love you the most.
She knew Cyrus‘ temper too well. Any more nagging might lead to a breakup.
Cyrus then hung up the phone.
Nancy stumbled back a few steps, hiding in a corner. Her vision blurred with confusion, and it took her a moment to calm down and walk out.
Cyrus immediately took Nancy’s hand, instantly noticing that something was off. “Nancy, are you okay? You’re so pale.”
He reached out to feel Nancy’s forehead.
Nancy dodged his hand. “I’m fine.”
Seeing Nancy so reluctant, Cyrus got the wrong idea.
He let out a soft sigh and said, “Nancy, I swear I won’t miss our anniversaries again. I won’t mess up like that a second time.”
Nancy stared straight at Cyrus, then suddenly laughed. “What if you continue to betray and lie or even decide to leave me? What then?”
Cyrus paused. He looked into Nancy’s distant eyes, feeling a sudden unease as if she had discovered something.
Yet, he quickly regained his composure, dismissively saying, “Then you can stab me with a knife, but leaving me is not an option! And I would never do such things.”
“Nancy, you know how much I adore you. How could I ever leave you? It’s you leaving me that’s the problem.” Cyrus‘ gaze was obsessive, “Nancy, you’re mine for life. Wherever you go, I’ll follow. I thought my hundred proposals showed my determination.”

Nancy was at a loss for words. She could see Cyrus‘ determination, so breaking up would involve something drastic like canceling her identity. Otherwise, with Cyrus‘ personality, he would never let her go.
– Cyrus squeezed Nancy’s hand, smiling. “Nancy, stop worrying over nothing. Let’s head to the amusement park
and have fun.”
