Norton answered honestly, “He’s known in the industry as quite the scoundrel. He’s smart in business, but his reputation is bad. Baldrick, why do you ask?”
“Why indeed?” Baldrick sneered at Cyrus.
Sensing something amiss, Cyrus turned deathly pale and stared at Nancy, his heart pounding. “Nancy, Ogden wouldn’t dare, right?”
Nancy didn’t address his question. Instead, she looked back at Cyrus with eyes full of scorn. “Does it matter? Weren’t you busy with something else and had to leave earlier?”
Cyrus felt his heart racing uncontrollably and impulsively reached out to grab Nancy’s hand. He said, “Let’s go home.”
But Nancy forcefully shook off his hand and stepped back, her expression turning cold and distant.
“I’m here with Baldrick tonight, Mr. Gordon. I’m not leaving with you.” she said.
Turning, she walked upstairs.
About to follow, Cyrus got blocked by Baldrick.
Cyrus‘ face fell as Baldrick coldly intervened, “Shall we talk?”
Cyrus was speechless.
Watching Nancy ascend the stairs alone, Cyrus clenched his fists, his gaze turning icy. “Alright, let’s talk.”
After Cyrus and Baldrick left, Norton seemed to sense something and followed them.
Upstairs, Nancy watched them leave without any change in her expression.
Suddenly, a soft voice reached her, “Nancy, I can’t believe Ogden had the nerve to lay his hands on you. But then again, Cyrus was too busy caring for me.”
Nancy turned to see Hayley approaching. Their eyes met, and Hayley’s gaze was jealous at the sight of Nancy’s refined elegance.
Hayley snorted, “Nancy, what’s the use of being pretty if you can’t keep your man? You can’t even stand up to my provocations.”
Nancy’s eyebrow quirked. “Why don’t you say that again before Cyrus?”
Hayley faltered, her face clouding over.
In a moment, Nancy stood before her.
“Nancy, don’t flatter yourself too much. Do you seriously think Cyrus likes you?” Hayley’s pupils dilated, her face twisting with sarcasm. “Of course, Cyrus likes me. Why else would I be pregnant? Didn’t you see how many condoms we used?”
“Is that
that what’s important here? More importantly, would he dare admit in front of me whose child you’re actually carrying? He wouldn’t dare. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have claimed the child was Norton’s.” Nancy coldly exposed the truth.
Reminded of Nancy’s contemptuous look, Hayley whispered evilly, “Cyrus might not admit it, but he’ll never touch you again. He thinks you’re dirty after being taken advantage of by Ogden. Speaking of which, you must have enjoyed Ogden’s advances last night. It seems that being taken advantage of is your fate…”
Nancy’s breath hitched, her mind going blank, and she impulsively–pushed Hayley.

But at that moment, Hayley cunningly stepped back and tumbled down the stairs.

Nancy’s hand fell through the air, watching Hayley fall, her expression darkening. She’d been fooled!

Norton frowned. “Cyrus, that’s too much. How could you treat Nancy like that?”
