Chapter 53 

The henchman didn’t dare utter a word, and Hayley, lounging on the couch, lifted her head in sheer disbelief. She must have heard wrong.. 

Nancy had sold the “Only You” and her wedding ring again! That was the second time! 

Cyrus was on the brink of insanity, especially with his chest feeling like it was about to explode with anger. 

“Find her. Find out where Nancy has gone!” he bellowed. 

Shaken by Cyrus‘ fury, the henchman quickly responded, “Yes, and about the ‘Only You‘ and the wedding ring…” 

“Of course, go to the auctioneer and get them back. Do I need to spell everything out for you?” Cyrus snarled before abruptly ending the call. 

The thought of Nancy leaving home and daring to sell the wedding ring and “Only You” was too much. She had crossed the line! How could she trample on his feelings like that? 

Seeing Cyrus fuming, Hayley quickly went over, tenderly taking his hand, “Cyrus, don’t be mad. Nancy didn’t think straight. Just wait until we find her, and you can gently persuade her to come home.” 

Cyrus‘ eyes were bloodshot with anger, but hearing Hayley’s words, he found a shard of reason and squeezed her hand back. 

“I don’t know how to sweet–talk Nancy. If only she could be as gentle as you.” His voice dripped with anger and dissatisfaction. 

Hayley leaned against Cyrus‘ shoulder, softly saying, “Just take it slow with Nancy. You’re such a good man. She’ll come around.” 

Cyrus wrapped his arms around Hayley, his irritation evident. “I hope so.” 

Taking his affection for granted, Nancy had become arrogant. If she couldn’t learn to be humble, she couldn’t blame him for finally giving up on her! 

When Nancy woke up again, she was still in Judson’s embrace. The scent of sandalwood on Judson instantly cleared her groggy mind despite the soreness in her limbs. 

Turning her head, she saw Judson’s stunningly handsome face. But what caught her attention more was Judson’s arm tightly wrapped around her waist and his leg assertively placed over her, restricting her 

movements. 

Even through their thin clothes, she could feel the warmth of his body and the contours of his muscles. 

Nancy’s heart raced uncontrollably, her cheeks flushing as she struggled to push Judson away. “Wake up!” 

Roused from his sleep, Judson lazily opened his eyes, and seeing Nancy with her cheeks flushed and eyes wide, he couldn’t help but smile. “Babe, you’re so adorable.” 

He then leaned in to kiss Nancy on the cheek. 

Nancy was stunned! Judson had kissed her? Her mind went blank, and she kicked Judson off the bed with an unexpected burst of strength. 

Caught off–guard, Judson landed on the ‘carpet with a thud.

Looking up at Nancy with a hurt expression, he whined, “Ouch!” 

“Serves you right! Who told you to kiss me!” Nancy was not pleased, vigorously wiping the spot where Judson had kissed her. 

Even her and Cyrus‘ kisses had been few and far between. And there she was, having known Judson for barely two days, and he had kissed her. How could she accept that?

Seeing Nancy genuinely upset, Judson placed his head on her lap, rubbing against it to appease her. “Nancy,

have no idea how cute you are. I couldn’t help myself!” 

Upon hearing Judson’s words and seeing his ‘puppy dog‘ antics, Nancy abruptly stood up. 

“Even if you can’t help it, you have to. I’m taking you to- 

She was about to say “police station” but suddenly felt dizzy and blacked out, collapsing onto the couch. 

“Babe!” Startled, Judson quickly got up to hold Nancy. 

Gasping for breath, Nancy felt even more lightheaded, and a chilling sensation spread from the bottom of her heart, intensifying her body’s soreness. 

Suddenly, she felt a burning palm placed on her forehead. The unbearable heat spread instantly. 

“Babe, are you running a fever?” Judson was worried. “I’m taking you to the hospital!” 

Fever? That hadn’t even crossed Nancy’s mind until Judson brought it up. She quickly glanced up at him, surprised to see he looked perfectly fine. 

Nancy swatted his hand away from her forehead. “Don’t touch me. If it weren’t for you not letting me go last. night, I wouldn’t have caught whatever you’ve got!” 

Feeling a bit embarrassed, Judson squeezed Nancy’s hand. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for this to happen. Let’s just go to the hospital, alright? I’ll stick by you the whole time.” Listening to his voice filled with undeniable guilt, Nancy couldn’t help but soften slightly.
