In the final moments, there was a confident nod, “Of course, Nancy, this time we’re definitely going to win.”
Meanwhile, at a hospital.
Hayley lay on the hospital bed, slowly opening her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling, still trying to gather her thoughts.
“Hayley?! You’re finally awake!”
A deep, magnetic voice filled the room, and as Hayley looked up, she saw Cyrus entering through the door.
Their eyes met, and Hayley’s filled with tears. “Cyrus, I’m so scared. I just want to die…”
Seeing Hayley’s face full of distress, Cyrus quickly grasped her hand. “Don’t say things like that. I won’t let Stein West get away with this.”
Hearing Cyrus‘ words, Hayley sobbed even harder. Suddenly, she pulled her hand away, cleaning her tears with the back of her hand as if struck by a thought.
“Cyrus, just wait. Once I’m out of here, I’ll go abroad, and I’ll make sure to give you a healthy child.”
“Don’t move!” Cyrus shouted, noticing the bandage on Hayley’s left hand starting to bleed, and he quickly held her arm gently. “Hayley, I’ve decided to stay until you have the baby.”
Hayley looked at Cyrus with disbelief, then spoke bitterly, “Is it because this scared you? Cyrus, don’t worry. I just wasn’t thinking straight, it won’t happen again. If you don’t like me, I won’t bother you.”
“I never said I don’t like you.”
Cyrus cut her off, his voice firm. Remembering the doctor’s warning that Hayley shouldn’t be upset, he continued, “Hayley. I may not love you deeply, but I do have feelings for you. Enough to have a child with you.”
Hayley was taken aback, staring at Cyrus earnestly, and her eyes brimmed with tears again.
It was the first time anyone had confessed feelings for her.
Cyrus reached out and gently ruffled Hayley’s hair. “Get some rest. I’ll be here to take care of you, even if Nancy comes back.”
“Okay.” Hayley sniffled, her gaze soft and tender as she looked at Cyrus. It seemed like there was no room for anyone else in her world but him.
Cyrus stood up, quickly turning to leave the room.
The door shut with a thud.
Caleb couldn’t help but speak up, “Mr. Gordon, are you really planning to win back your wife while taking care of Hayley at the same time….
“What else am I supposed to do?” Cyrus said coldly. “Just let Hayley fall apart? Don’t you know whose child she’s carrying?”
“If you want to be responsible for Hayley, then don’t chase after Nancy! Jerk.” Caleb thought bitterly but kept his expression neutral. “That’s not what I meant, sir.”
“If that’s not what you meant, then keep quiet,” Cyrus replied, the frustration clear in his voice. “Has Baldrick managed to get in touch with Nancy?”
Caleb shook his head, answering honestly, “Still no luck. Mr. Robertson is preparing for the anniversary show tomorrow, but it seems his lead model is having issues. He and his partner, Lena, are quite anxious.”
Cyrus let out a cold laugh. “Serves him right. That’s what you get for coveting another man’s wife.”
As for Lena…
Cyrus‘ expression turned contemplative. “Caleb, look into Lena’s background. I want to know who she really is.”
