Chapter 107
During Emma’s interview, the sales director quickly picked up on her connections.
Everyone knew the CEO had personally arranged for her to join the team, treating her like a rare gem in the fast- paced corporate world. From day one, she was given a private office–a perk practically unheard of for a
newcomer.
Sitting at her desk, Emma touched up her makeup while faintly hearing her colleagues gossiping about her and Justin outside. A smug smile spread across her face.
“Stay here. You don’t need to follow me in,” Justin said outside his office.
“Yes, Mr. Yates,” Sam replied dutifully.
Justin walked into his office and immediately shed his suit jacket. He headed straight to the ensuite bathroom and began washing himself thoroughly. The lukewarm water cascaded over his body as he meticulously used the body wash Emily had once bought for him, as if trying to scrub away the events of the previous night.
Once clean, he changed into a spare suit he kept in the office. Only then did he feel marginally better.
Back at his desk, Justin slammed a stack of documents onto the table and rubbed his temples in frustration. The sales reports from the directors were awful–useless work from a bunch of overpaid slackers.
He dialed the intercom, his voice sharp. “Sam, get the finance director up here immediately.”
“Yes, Mr. Yates.”
With a curt “click,” Justin ended the call.

In the adjacent office, a secretary cautiously asked Sam, “Is the CEO in a bad mood again?”
Sam hesitated before nodding. “It seems like it. I’m heading to find the finance director. Be careful and double- check your work. Don’t make any mistakes.”
The secretary shrank back nervously, returning to her desk with renewed focus, not daring to breathe wrong.
Meanwhile, Zac woke up at the hotel, noticing it was almost noon. After replying to a few work–related messages from the hospital, he cleaned himself up and decided to grab breakfast with Justin. But upon discovering Justin had left without so much as a word, Zac frowned.
What an inconsiderate move, especially after Zac had gone through all the trouble of getting him into bed the night before.
Settling for a quick bite at the hotel, Zac sent Justin a message while driving back to the hospital.
Back at the office, Justin’s fury echoed through the walls as he berated the finance director. His angry shouts filtered out to the secretarial department, sending chills down everyone’s spines. The staff moved carefully, fearing they might be next.
“Get out! Fix it and resubmit! If you can’t, don’t bother coming back to work!” Justin roared.

With a loud roar from Justin, the finance director stumbled out of the office, looking utterly defeated.
The secretaries exchanged sympathetic glances as they watched him leave.
Justin set down the pen in his hand and slumped back into His leather chair, letting out a heavy sigh to release the tension in his chest.
Wasn’t Emma the woman he had always wanted?
Now that he had her, why was he so irritated?
When did things start to feel so off?
Justin locked himself in his office for the rest of the day, struggling to focus on work. His mood remained low, and he barely got anything done.
This state of mind lingered until the end of the workday.
A message buzzed on his phone, “Justin, my housekeeper made all your favorite dishes tonight. Do you want to come over for dinner?”
His reply was curt, “I’m still busy with work. You go ahead.
After sending the message, he flipped his phone face down on the desk. He didn’t want to see Emma.
At the same time, he couldn’t bring himself to go to Villa One, where he feared Emily’s disdainful, scornful eyes would pierce through him.
Instead, he retreated to the lounge, scrubbing himself raw in the shower. It was as though he believed he could wash away the stains of guilt and regret. By the time he emerged, his skin was red from the excessive scrubbing.
That night, he didn’t sleep. The ashtray in his office overflowed with cigarette butts, and the air was thick with smoke.
The next day, entertainment news broke online about Justin and Emma leaving the Mandale Hotel together.
The accompanying photos showed Emma wearing a face mask as she and Justin entered the same car–his signature luxury car.
The comment section buzzed with speculation, with netizens confidently concluding their relationship was real. When Zac came across the news while browsing online, he immédiately called Justin.
