Chapter 112
That checkup had been a long time ago.
Emily knew Justin wouldn’t want this child. Rather than let him arrange for her to be forced into a termination, she would handle it on her own. She hated being controlled or coerced.
“Let’s eat first,” Justin said as he pulled out a chair for her before sitting down beside her.
Emily was surprised. In the past, whenever Emma’s name came up, it would inevitably lead to an argument. But today, he seemed oddly calm.
She didn’t dwell on it. Perhaps because she had just thrown up, her appetite wasn’t great, and she only picked at her food.
After dinner, Justin stood and casually said, “Move to the master bedroom tonight,” before heading to his study.
Emily frowned. “I’m not feeling well tonight. I can’t deal with you right now. Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
Justin paused on the stairs, recalling the dream where she left him and disappeared from his life. The fear crept back, and his tone turned cold and commanding. “That’s an order. You don’t have the right to negotiate.”
“You…” Emily was furious. He was utterly unreasonable, more domineering than a king.
Stomping loudly up the stairs in frustration, she went to the guest room. She had no intention of sharing a bed with Justin. It made her feel sick.
After taking a quick shower and watching a couple of episodes of her favorite drama, she made sure to fall asleep quickly, beating Justin to it.
When Justin came out of his study and noticed she wasn’t in the master bedroom, he went to the guest room. The door was locked.
He fetched the spare key from Mrs. Zimmer, unlocked the door, and turned on the light. Seeing Emily peacefully asleep on the bed, he walked over quietly and scooped her up in his arms.
Carrying her back to the master bedroom, he laid her on the bed and covered her with a thin blanket.
Emily was fast asleep, completely unaware of the change in location.
Justin sat beside her for a long time, staring at her serene face. “Emily, let’s do better together from now on,” he murmured.
Without disturbing her further, he went to the bathroom to shower.
When he came back, he climbed into bed and gently pulled her into his arms, falling asleep with her nestled close.

The next morning, Emily woke up to find herself in the master bedroom. Justin was already gone.
Panicking slightly, she checked herself for any signs of violation.
She moved her legs cautiously. Thankfully, nothing seemed out of place.
Glancing at the clock, she realized it was past 8 a.m. Justin had probably gone to work by now–or so she thought.
Noticing her slippers weren’t by the bed, she padded barefoot back to the guest room to put them on before

heading to the bathroom to freshen up.
She planned to go to the library later to read up on historical art.
However, when she came downstairs to the dining room, she was startled to find Justin still at home, sitting at the table and leisurely eating breakfast.
Her instinct was to turn around and leave, but Mrs. Zimmer spotted her.
“Good morning, Miss Yates! We’ve got sandwiches, oats porridge, buns, and milk. What would you like to eat?” Caught, Emily couldn’t just walk away. She hesitated before replying, “A sandwich and some milk, please.” “Got it!” Mrs. Zimmer said cheerfully as she turned to get her order.
Justin finished his last bite and said nonchalantly, “You’re coming to the office with me today.”
Emily froze. The office?
As far as she knew, Emma worked at RC Corporation. If the two of them ran into each other and Emma lost it, whose fault would that be?
Was Justin deliberately trying to torment her?
“I’m not going,” she said firmly.
“If you don’t go, I’ll carry you there like I did last night,” Justin said coolly, his tone leaving no room for debate.
Emily let out a sharp breath of frustration. “Fine! You win!” she silently remarked.
She stabbed her sandwich with her fork, imagining it was Justin’s face.
