The driver, wearing a mask and radiating an ominous aura, glanced at Emily through the rearview mirror.
His tone was cold and unsettling. “Miss Yates, we’re not at the destination yet. My boss admires you and would like to invite you over for some tea.”
Before Emily could react, the car suddenly accelerated to its highest speed, causing her to be thrown back against the seat.

Meanwhile, in the villa, Justin paced restlessly. He had been home for a while, but there was still no sign of Emily. Even if she had just finished dinner when they spoke, she should have been back by now.
Worry gnawed at him, a mix of anxiety and irritation clawing at his nerves. Standing by the study window, he called her phone again.
“The number you’ve dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later. Sorry…”
Justin lowered the phone, his jaw tightening. “She wouldn’t just take this chance to leave, would she?” he thought.
His frustration boiled over as he tugged at his tie. The mere thought of her running away while he wasn’t keeping an eye on her was infuriating.
Quickly, he instructed William to dispatch people to search the airports and major stations. Justin even visited her friend Helen, but his efforts yielded nothing.
Where on earth could she have gone?
The car sped along, heading to a secluded villa in a remote location. Along the way, Emily discreetly observed the road signs and landscape, mentally mapping the route. She managed to send a message to Helen describing the scenery and location before her phone battery died. She could only hope it went through.
Was the person who sent that anonymous text the same as the one who kidnapped her?
The question swirled in her mind as the car came to a stop.
“Move it! Stop stalling,” barked the driver, dropping all pretenses of politeness. He shoved Emily toward the villa’s entrance,
“I can walk on my own,” she retorted, twisting away from his grip on her back. Her wrists were already bound behind her, tied tightly when she was forced out of the car earlier.
Her pace was slow, deliberately stalling for time.
“Move faster!” The driver snarled, grabbing her arm roughly and dragging her up the stairs to a room on the second floor. “Don’t even think about running. No one will know you’re here.”
He shoved the door open and forcefully pushed Emily inside. She stumbled forward, landing hard on the carpet. Though the fall didn’t hurt much, the ropes around her wrists scraped painfully against her skin, leaving a burning sensation.
She struggled to her feet, glancing around the room for anything sharp–scissors, a blade, anything she could use
to cut herself free.

Chapter 127
After a frantic search, she found nothing. Not even a needle
What she did find made her stomach churn: provocative lingerie, an assortment of adult toys, handcuffs, and candles laid out on the bed in plain view.
Her face twisted in disgust. “Could this be Jack’s doing?” she wondered.
He was the only one she could think of. The leering looks he had given her recently, his sleazy attempts to get close–everything pointed him.
The image of Jack’s bloated face flashed through her mind, his greasy eyes glinting like a predatory insect. The mere thought made her want to retch.
If Helen hadn’t received her message and no one came to save her, the idea of being violated by someone like Jack was unbearable. Emily clenched her fists. If it came to that, she would rather jump out of the window and end it herself.
“No,” she told herself, “I need to figure out a way to save myself.”
She turned her back to the bed and awkwardly maneuvered to open the drawer of the bedside table. In her struggle, she accidentally tipped over, bumping into the bed.
The bed wobbled.
“What the…?” Emily frowned. She pressed her shoulder against it again, and it shifted.
“A waterbed? Seriously?” she silently remarked.
Exasperated, she continued her search. After considerable effort, she finally managed to open the drawer, only to find it filled with even more “toys.” Nothing useful.
