Chapter 16
Justin stormed off, seething with anger. “Emily, you’re something else!”
She could actually jump into bed with other men without any restraint. Acting all self–righteous in front of him, only to throw herself at someone else behind his back.
Was she really incapable of being without a man?
He tugged irritably at his collar, his strides long and furious as he made his way through the hallway. At the corner, he nearly collided with a woman dressed in a revealing outfit.
She stumbled against him and silently cursed whoever was so careless. However, when she looked up and saw Justin, her expression softened, and a blush crept onto her cheeks.
She had noticed him by the pool earlier and recognized him as the CEO of RC Corporation. However, he had another woman with him earlier. As the CEO of RC Corporation, he was a much bigger catch than any of the other guys around the resort.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! I wasn’t watching where I was going and ran right into you!” she apologized sweetly.
Her gaze moved from Justin’s face down to his neck, where she noticed a wound that had stopped bleeding, marked by two distinct rows of teeth marks. It was obvious they were from a woman’s bite.
She immediately understood what had happened. She also noticed a smudge of foundation on his shirt, probably from when they had bumped into each other.
“Oh no, I got makeup on your shirt! Where’s your room? Why don’t you let me wash it for you?” She pointed to the smudge as an excuse to engage him, her tone flirtatious. “And that cut on your neck. It must be hard to bandage it yourself. Let me help you.”
She tossed him a flirtatious smile, but Justin’s face remained stone–cold.
“Get lost,” he said, his tone icy.
Without another glance, he brushed past her and walked away with purpose.
The woman huffed, rolling her eyes as she muttered, “Pfft! Who’s he kidding, acting like some gentleman!”
She sashayed away, heels clicking against the floor, but just as she disappeared, Emma emerged from around the corner, a light sheen of sweat on her forehead from rushing to find Justin.
Emma first looked in the direction the woman had gone, then turned her gaze toward where Justin had disappeared, her eyes narrowing with resentment. “There were always trashy women trying to steal her man.”
She clenched her fists tightly at her sides. Fate had brought Justin back to her, and his wife could only be her. It was destiny!
But where had Justin gone just now? Had he gone to see Emily again? He had vanished from the ballroom earlier, and she had searched the entire resort for him. Now he had left her side again without a word!
Justin was hers. He had been three years ago, and he still was today.
With her resolve set, Emma began walking in the direction Justin had gone. Not far along, she ran into Zac.
“What are you doing alone? Where’s Justin? He’s not with you?” he asked, his mood upbeat as he approached her.
Lately, Justin had been glued to Emma’s side, like they were joined at the hip. Seeing her without him piqued Zac’s curiosity.

Emma tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, keeping up her usual sweet and gentle demeanor. “Justin just stepped away to take a call. It’s something to do with the company. He went to handle it,” she said softly.
