Chapter 28
The next morning, Emily got ready and headed out for her art class. She hailed a taxi on the street, something she hadn’t done in a while.
Back when she was with Justin, she always drove one of the cars he had gifted her, but after she left, she hadn’t taken any of them. The cars and the jewelry he had given her, were all left behind at Villa One.
As the taxi drove through the city, it passed the luxurious villa community where she used to live. Emily noticed a sleek black luxury car pulling out from the gates of Villa One.
It was hard to miss, with its unique all–8 license plate, a rare sight in Lincourt City. She glanced at it briefly but quickly turned her attention to the scenery outside the opposite window, not wanting to linger on the past.
The taxi driver, however, couldn’t help but comment. “Did you see that limited–edition luxury car that just passed by? With a license plate like that, people living in this area are definitely loaded.
“These villas are worth millions!” he added in awe.
Emily gave a small smile. “More than that. Judging by the location, they go for at least a few hundred million.”
The driver whistled, clearly impressed. “There really are a lot of rich people out there!”
Meanwhile, inside the black luxury car, William was at the wheel while Justin rested in the backseat. His stomach pain had eased the night before, but by the time he made it back to his villa, it was already late.
When Justin returned home, he realized that Emily had moved out long ago. Her clothes were gone, and the wardrobe was empty. He hadn’t been home for a while and had forgotten about it. Even though the room had been cleaned by Mrs. Zimmer, there was still a faint trace of Emily’s scent lingering in the air. A mix of her unique fragrance and perfume flooded his senses, stirring something within him.
Instead of sleeping in the master bedroom, Justin had opted for the guest room. This morning, before leaving, he had instructed Mrs. Zimmer to do a deep clean of the house.
He was going to marry Emma soon, and he didn’t want any remnants of Emily’s presence causing future misunderstandings. He was already thinking about finding a new home for him and Emma to live in after they were married.
Meanwhile, Emily’s taxi pulled up at the school. After paying for the ride, she stepped out. Her main purpose today wasn’t just to attend class but to finalize her withdrawal from the art school.
She didn’t plan to stay in Lincourt City for much longer, mostly to avoid Justin. After the outburst at the resort, who knew what he might do next?
What if, for some reason, Emma disappeared, and Justin decided to come after her again?
She didn’t want to take any chances. Justin and Emma were a perfect match, both in status and looks. They should stay together and leave her out of it.
She walked briskly toward the school’s main building, but a group of influencers standing not far behind her were whispering among themselves.
“Did you hear? She got dumped by RC Corporation’s CEO!” one of them said, nodding toward Emily’s back.
“Oh, I heard. At first, I thought it was just a rumor, but I saw her getting out of a taxi this morning at the school gate. She’s not even driving those luxury cars anymore. Looks like she didn’t get anything in the breakup.”

“With all the money RC Corporation has, he didn’t even give her a breakup gift? The car’s nothing to him. Giving it to her wouldn’t hurt his wallet.”
“Looks like that CEO isn’t as generous as he seems. Played her for three years and didn’t leave her with a thing,” another added with a smirk.
“Keep your voice down,” a more cautious friend warned. “Let’s not let her hear us. It’s fine to gossip behind her back, but there’s no need to start trouble.”
