Chapter 51
At the time, Emily had been completely deceived, blissfully unaware of the truth and fully immersed in the sweetness of love.
But now, it was all nothing more than an intricately crafted lie.
Without the slightest hesitation, she tossed the tie clip into the trash can in the bathroom, just to make sure it was truly out of sight and out of mind.
*Knock, knock, knock!* A loud, insistent banging at the door.
Emily walked over to open it.
“Emily! Why didn’t you pick up your phone? And why was it off? I was so worried you might do something reckless!” Sean stood there, suitcase in hand, his face filled with concern.
“What would I possibly do? It’s just a pregnancy.” Emily waved it off as if it were no big deal. “My phone broke. That’s why I didn’t answer. Let’s go buy a new one later.”
She locked her suitcase, and Sean immediately took it from her.
“Sure thing! How about we get matching phones? Couples models?” Sean teased with a grin.
Emily gave him a light smack on the back. “Stop it, or I’ll leave you behind! I’m booking a ticket back to Lincourt City right now.”
“Alright, alright! My bad,” Sean said, raising his hands in mock surrender. “But how are you going to book a ticket with no phone? Want me to handle it for you?” he added, smirking.
“I’ll use my card. Obviously,” Emily said, feigning irritation.
The two bantered as they left the hotel and checked out at the front desk.

In the bathroom, water cascaded down over Justin’s well–built frame.
The cold shower helped soothe his leg, where Emma had accidentally spilled piping–hot soup earlier. It had burned him and ruined his pants, and rather than just rinse the area, he decided to shower completely.
Emma had sent the housekeeper out to buy burn cream and had already laid out a set of men’s pajamas in the bedroom for Justin to wear when he was done.
A soft smile played on Emma’s face. With Justin staying for dinner and even taking a shower here, it seemed likely he would stay the night.
Her recovery from the hymen restoration procedure was complete, and Justin’s behavior toward her had grown more intimate. Tonight, she planned to take things further.
Emma placed the pajamas on the bed and left to shower in the other bathroom.
Meanwhile, Justin’s phone, sitting nearby, began to ring.
It was an unmarked number with a Bay City area code. “Must be one of his colleagues from Bay City,” Emma thought.
Without hesitation, she answered.
“Hello, Justin is in the shower…”

“Mr. Yates…” the voice on the other end began.
Both paused, speaking simultaneously.
“Sorry, I must have the wrong number,” the caller said quickly.
“You didn’t call the wrong number. Justin’s in the shower. m his friend. If there’s something urgent, I can relay the message to him,” Emma replied smoothly, without any sense of impropriety.
On the other end of the line, the general manager of the WX Hotel hesitated.
Justin had instructed him to monitor the occupant of Room 1608 and report any activity. The room was registered to a woman, and now another woman had answered Justin’s phone, claiming to be his friend.
A woman answering the phone late at night? In his world, it wasn’t hard to guess her role.
The hotel general manager, being sharp and socially savvy, quickly understood the situation without needing an explanation.
This wasn’t exclusive to elite circles. Even in everyday life, it wasn’t unheard of.
To ensure a smooth career, he knew better than to meddle in his boss’s personal affairs.
