Chapter 52
Chapter 52
WX Hotel was a subsidiary of RC Corporation.
“Thank you. Could you let Mr. Yates know that I called to report on the hotel’s performance?” the general manager said cautiously, carefully choosing his words.
“Sure,” Emma responded and ended the call, her expression contemplative.
A hotel manager reporting directly to the CEO?
Something about it didn’t sit right.
The name Emily suddenly popped into her mind.
Unlocking Justin’s phone required a passcode, and Emma decided to try her own birthday. The screen unlocked effortlessly.
Navigating to the messaging app, she noticed that Emily’s chat had been pinned to the top. Clicking on it, Emma saw the messages Justin had sent to Emily. Curious, she proceeded to read through their messages.
She then saw Justin’s instructions for Emily to break things off with Sean, coupled with a wire transfer of one million dollars.
Emma’s breathing quickened, her gaze darkening with malice.
“Emily, you’re still clinging to Justin like a ghost that just won’t move on?” she thought bitterly. “Fine. Don’t blame me for taking matters into my own hands.”
In just a few breaths, Emma composed herself, exiting the text messages and locking the phone. She made sure to leave no trace of her snooping and set the phone back down as if nothing had happened.
She left the guestroom and returned to her room.
By the time Emma came back to the guestroom, she had showered and changed into a carefully chosen silk nightgown.
Justin was sitting on the edge of the bed in a bathrobe, towel–drying his hair.
“Justin, I sent your clothes to the dry cleaner,” Emma said shyly, her cheeks flushed. “So for now, you’ll have to wear the pajamas I’ve prepared.
“I bought them in advance, hoping for the day you’d stay here.” With her face flushed and her fingers fidgeting nervously in front of her, Emma spoke in a soft, bashful tone. She appeared nervous, with an air of innocence, as if she were completely inexperienced in such matters.
“There’s no need,” Justin said, his voice calm but firm. “I’ve already asked William to send over a set of clothes. I have an international meeting later tonight, so I’ll need to head back to the office anyway.”
Justin stood up and walked toward her. Despite knowing where this moment could lead, he felt an inexplicable reluctance.
Gently wrapping her in his arms, he spoke softly, as if trying to dispel any potential misunderstanding. “I want to save that moment for our wedding night, to make it special for you. Okay?” His gaze, deep and seemingly full of sincerity, added a warmth to his words that made them almost convincing.
“Justin…” Emma looked up at him, her face filled with what seemed like gratitude and affection, though her thoughts were far less innocent.

Justin pressed her head gently against his chest, shielding her from seeing his expression.
Inwardly, he rationalized his hesitation. “It’s because I love her too much. I don’t want to ruin her reputation or disrespect her. Yes, this is what true love is about.” He repeated this to himself, as if convincing his own heart.
After holding her for a moment, Justin released her and reached for his phone to call William.
The first thing he noticed was a recent call from the WX Hotel manager. It was two minutes long, during the time he had been in the shower.
Emma’s expression flickered briefly before she composed herself.
“Justin, your phone rang earlier. It’s the same model as the one you gave me, so I thought it was mine and answered by mistake. You don’t mind, do you?”
She pouted, her eyes pleading for forgiveness.
“Oh, right,” she added with a casual air, “it was the manager from WX Hotel. He mentioned needing to report something to you. I meant to tell you, but I forgot.” She lightly smacked her forehead in mock frustration.
Justin shifted his gaze away from the call log, his expression dark and unreadable. Gently, he reached out to stop Emma from hitting her head in frustration.
His tone was light and easygoing, with no trace of blame. “Don’t go hitting yourself silly over this.”
