Chapter 60
Wilfred boarded his private jet in Merika State, heading for Haven State’s Lincourt City. His assistant trailed closely behind.
“Sir, would you like me to arrange contact with Miss Walker upon arrival?” the assistant asked.
“Let’s do that giant pendulum ride!” Emily exclaimed, pointing enthusiastically at the attraction.
Her flushed face glowed with excitement, her forehead and nose glistening with sweat, and strands of damp hair clung to her cheeks. She was clearly having a blast.
Sean handed her a wet wipe with a doting smile. “Emily, you’re pregnant. Rides like the pirate ship or the giant pendulum are off–limits! You’re lucky I let you go on that kiddie roller coaster earlier. That’s as thrilling as it gets!”
Emily rolled her eyes internally. It really was a kiddie ride.
“How about the Ferris wheel?” Sean suggested, gesturing toward it. The sunset cast a golden hue over the park, making it a perfect photo opportunity.
Emily sighed, stealing one last wistful glance at the giant pendulum, but let Sean lead her toward the Ferris wheel. When their car reached the top, Sean captured a stunning photo of Emily, bathed in the soft glow of the setting
sun.
“Not bad, kiddo. Your photography skills are better than I thought!” Emily teased as she scrolled through the photos he had taken earlier in the day. She smiled, setting the latest one as her new profile picture.
Sean frowned, his frustration clear. “Can you stop calling me ‘kiddo‘ and just use my
name?”
It was obvious he had feelings for her, but every time she called him “kiddo,” it felt completely devoid of any affection. It was more like something an older sister would say to her younger brother.
Emily, still focused on sorting through her photos and deciding which ones to post online, glanced up at him with a playful giggle. “You’re younger than me so I call you ‘kiddo.‘ What’s wrong with that?”
“It just is!” Sean grumbled, his tone clearly annoyed.
He had always called Emily by her name with affection, laced with unspoken emotions.
Unwilling to let it slide, Sean pressed on, trailing after her. Emily, try saying ‘kiddo‘ again, but this time, say it with some feeling.”
“Kiddo,” she repeated, her tone as neutral as ever, devoid of any special meaning.
Sean huffed, cheeks puffing slightly in irritation, and turned away to sulk, staring out at the sunset.
Emily chuckled softly. It was the first time she had seen this side of him. He was so adorable.
Putting her phone down, Emily tried to soothe him, her voice teasingly light. “Alright, alright. I’m starving. How about I treat you to dinner after the Ferris wheel ride?”
Whether it was from an afternoon of excitement or her pregnancy–induced cravings, she was feeling really hungry.
“Fine,” Sean replied, still trying to sound aloof. “I’ll forgive you this time, since you’re treating me.”

Chapter 60
After dinner at a restaurant inside the amusement park, they decided to stay for the evening fireworks show.
Though Emily thought they had arrived early, the viewing area was already packed. Sean stood protectively behind her, shielding her from the crowd.
As night fell, the fireworks show lit up the sky right on schedule.
Emily tilted her head back, gazing at the dazzling display above. Vibrant bursts of color painted the night sky, intertwining with the scattered stars, captivating everyone’s attention.
While Emily’s eyes were fixed on the fireworks, Sean’s eyes were on her.
“Emily,” Sean called softly.
“Hm? What’s up?” she asked, turning her head to him, her expression curious and a little dazed.
Sean, standing at six feet tall, towered over her, making her tilt her head up to meet his eyes. In her eyes, the reflection of the fireworks sparkled brightly, mesmerizing him.
He stared, completely captivated.
Sean leaned in slightly, his gaze unwavering as he asked with heartfelt sincerity.
“Emily, will you be my girlfriend?”
