Chapter 61
Beneath the dazzling Jupiter Land fireworks, surrounded by a bustling crowd, the sky lit up with bursts of vibrant light.
The booming fireworks left Emily momentarily stunned, her mind blank as the sound reverberated around her. But then, she saw the unwavering seriousness in Sean’s eyes. It was a gaze so genuine it struck her deeply. She had always dismissed Sean’s confessions of affection as playful banter, never taking them seriously. Yet, at this moment, she could no longer deny the sincerity radiating from him. It was undeniable, and it shook her to the
core.
Her heart thudded wildly in her chest, each beat in sync with the fireworks exploding above.
She knew her reality. She was an orphan with no memories, carrying another man’s child. Her recent betrayal had scarred her deeply, making her wary of the emotional entanglements of wealthy men.
She was seared.
She didn’t know how long Sean’s seriousness would last. And when it faded, what kind of devastation would follow?
She didn’t want to be toyed with again. All she wanted was to find someone she could truly love and live out a peaceful life together.
“Sean, I can’t…” she whispered, her voice tinged with sadness.
“Emily, don’t reject me so quickly,” Sean pleaded, holding her gaze without faltering. “I know what you’re worried about. Relationships need mutual feelings and a solid foundation, and I understand that.
“Just give me a chance,” he continued, his tone unwavering. “Give yourself a chance. If you grow to love me, I’ll handle every obstacle you’re afraid of. All I ask is for an opportunity and some time.”
Emily froze, staring up at him in a daze.
In that moment, Sean’s sense of responsibility made him exude a magnetic charm. He was no longer the youthful, immature boy she once thought he was.
Nearby, a team shooting promotional videos captured the scene. The camera lingered on them, two figures silhouetted against the shimmering fireworks, their emotions palpable under the night sky. It was a perfect moment, pure and cinematic.
As the fireworks ended and the crowd began dispersing, Sean stayed close to Emily, shielding her from the jostling masses.
A soft growling sound broke the moment. Emily blushed and instinctively placed a hand over her stomach.
She had eaten dinner earlier, so why was she hungry again?
This hadn’t happened before.
Ever since she found out she was pregnant, hér appetite seemed insatiable.
Her brows furrowed in frustration.
“What do you feel like eating?” Sean asked, crouching slightly to meet her eyes with a warm smile.
“I want something spicy,” she said, her voice faint, but there was a trace of vulnerability in it that surprised even her.

Sean’s smile widened. “Perfect. I know a great hotpot spot nearby. We’ll get a spicy broth. Let’s go!” he said in a playful, coaxing tone.
Emily nodded, her earlier hesitation giving way to trust. Sean, ever mindful, gently took her by the wrist, leading her away from the crowd.
At the park’s entrance, a black luxury car was parked across the street. Inside, Justin sat in the dimly lit car, his eyes locked on his phone.
On the screen played a newly uploaded promotional video from Jupiter Land. It showcased a couple standing under the fireworks, gazing deeply into each other’s eyes, framed by the brilliant light show.
The background music only added to the romantic atmosphere, and Justin’s expression darkened. His knuckles whitened as he gripped the phone, veins bulging as though he were moments away from crushing it.
“Mr. Yates, Miss Yates is leaving,” Sam, seated in the passenger seat, reported cautiously. He had noticed Sean but decided against mentioning him to avoid triggering Justin’s temper.
Justin tore his gaze away from the video, looking out the car window.
There she was, walking through the crowd, with Sean holding her wrist securely.
The sight was like a dagger to his chest. It was intolerable.
Flinging the car door open, Justin stepped out, his presence dark and imposing.
Behind him, a line of black–suited bodyguards followed closely as he marched toward Jupiter Land’s entrance.
