Chapter 66
The traffic officer glanced at the bodyguards in black suits around them before sternly addressing Justin.
“You’re the ones blocking the entrance to Jupiter Land and causing the traffic jam, right? You’re in the wrong here, too.”
“I apologize, officer. My younger sister is being difficult,” Justin said, nodding toward Sam to offer the officer a cigarette.
The officer declined.
“Don’t waste your time with these useless gestures. This is a warning. Pay attention next time!”
With that, the officer walked away.
Emily saw her chance to slip away behind the officer. But William quickly blocked her path, and Sam once again positioned himself by the car door.
“Miss Yates, please.”
The car sped down the road, heading toward the airport. With the flight time approaching, they were driving fast. Emily was stuck in the backseat, keeping as much distance as she could from Justin. She was already pressed up against the car door, fearing that Justin might snap again.
“Justin, what do you want from me? What will it take for you to let me go?”
In the front seat, William and Sam stayed silent, looking straight ahead, pretending not to hear.
“I already told you. Wait until the contract expires.”
Justin flipped through some papers, keeping his usual cold, detached expression as he answered with a calm, almost indifferent tone.
Would he let her go once the contract was up? Justin wasn’t sure.
The rest of the ride was quiet.
After finishing the documents, Justin leaned back and closed his eyes, trying to rest. He had been searching for her nonstop these past few days, working online, and he was exhausted.
Right now, he couldn’t bring himself to let Emily go, and as for after the contract expired, he wasn’t sure.
It all started during his teenage years when he encountered danger in Merika State, and Emma saved his life. He fell for her at first sight. Two years later, they reunited in college, and he made up his mind to marry her.
Now that he had found Emma, he should, by all rights, let Emily go. But he didn’t want to let go yet. Once he figured out his feelings, he would make a decision. Of course, the one he let go would be compensated.
“Where are we going?” Emily asked, noticing the car wasn heading toward Lincourt City.
“To the airport,” Justin replied flatly.
The airport was crowded. She could find a chance to escape there.
“Don’t even think about running.”
Justin seemed to see straight through Emily’s thoughts.

He squinted, leaned back in his seat, and his voice turned cold and menacing, “Think about your friend. She’s all alone in Haven State after coming from Merika State to study. What if something happens to her? A car accident, a fire… What will you do then?”
“You…” Emily trembled with anger.
He was using her friend’s safety to threaten her!
She had no family and Helen was her best friend.
She couldn’t ignore Helen’s safety.
Justin! He was such a bastard!
“And your lover, Sean,” Justin took the opportunity to humiliate her.
“If you don’t want him locked away by his family or sent off somewhere far away, you’d better behave. Stay by my side quietly, and when I’m done, when the contract expires. I’ll let you go.”
Justin spoke the threatening words as if it was nothing.
Emily’s chest tightened at the mention of Sean, and her breath grew shallow.
“By then, I’ll give you some more money,” he snorted, mocking her. “Without my permission and enough money, you won’t be going anywhere!”
“Who says I don’t have money?” Emily snapped. “I’ve been your deceived lover for three years. Wasn’t I working for you all this time? You can let me go now!”
Justin didn’t get angry. He stayed calm and said, “Since you understand, just focus on your work, earn your money, and leave.”
Justin was painting a picture for Emily.
As for whether he would actually let her go when the contract expired, that would depend on his mood.
