Chapter 69
“Well, he looks the part but acts disgracefully,” Emily muttered to herself.
At the RC Corporation branch office, Justin insisted that Emily accompany him on his inspection.
Wearing high heels and carrying a briefcase, Emily stood behind Justin like a secretary, listening as he spoke with the branch manager.
They toured several key departments, and Emily followed Justin around all morning. Finally, around noon, the inspection was over.
After lunch, Justin had a meeting in the afternoon. Emily was finally able to rest. She hadn’t worn high heels in days, and after walking around all morning, her feet were sore.
She sat on the sofa in the lounge to relax. Spotting some pastries and snacks on the coffee table, she grabbed a few and made herself a cup of coffee.
The lunch had been arranged by the branch manager, but the food wasn’t to her taste, so she hadn’t eaten much.
While snacking and casually scrolling through her phone, she overheard some gossip from outside. Curious, she put her snacks down and leaned closer to the door.
“Did you get a good look at her? Is she the one?” asked Female Colleague A.
“I saw her clearly. It’s definitely the woman from the news! You still don’t believe me? I even secretly took a picture of her face,” Female Colleague B replied confidently, pulling up a photo on her phone to compare it to a news article.
“Told you I wasn’t lying! They really look the same. It’s the same person!” she added.
“Didn’t the CEO take over the company about three years ago and stay single since? Now he’s in a relationship, and they’re inseparable. He even brings her to work. He must really like her,” Female Colleague A said, her voice full of envy.
“Girlfriend? Please. To me, she’s just arm candy. It’s been all over the news, but has the CEO made any public statements or admitted it? No.” A male colleague chimed in with his opinion.
“Rich men keeping women isn’t anything new. Did you see the way she was walking today in that tight skirt? Her hips were swaying. She looks like she’s not serious about anything!” The male colleague gave a sleazy laugh and raised his phone. On the screen was a photo of Emily’s backside.
“I got a shot of her too,” he added.
“Ugh, you are so disgusting, taking sneaky photos of people!” Female Colleague A said, clearly disgusted.
Then it dawned on her, and a wave of fear swept over her. If he had been taking sneaky pictures of the CEO’s girlfriend, could he have also been secretly photographing their daily lives?
“If she really is the CEO’s girlfriend, he would have kept her hidden by now. How could he bring her out as his secretary? Look at all the attractive secretaries working for CEOS. Aren’t they all just mistresses?
“For work, the CEO only trusts Sam. She’s just there to serve tea. I bet she’s probably more useful in bed than in the office!” The male colleague’s eyes lit up as he grinned, clearly enjoying his inappropriate remarks.
Emily and Emma looked almost identical, and anyone who didn’t know them well could easily mix them up.
But Emily was not Justin’s girlfriend. She was his secret lover!

Chapter 69
Emily heard everything from behind the door.
They had mistaken her for Emma, the woman rumored to be the one Justin had allegedly been visiting late at night.
Her brows furrowed. They had even taken a photo of her!
She couldn’t stop people from gossiping and slandering her behind her back, but taking photos without her permission? That was crossing the line.
With that thought, Emily flung open the lounge door.
The lounge was connected to the pantry, and everyone inside jumped in surprise.
With a cold, stern expression, Emily demanded, “Who took my photo? Delete it!”
