Chapter 71
Justin opened the male colleague’s social media app.
“What’s the password?” he demanded.
“Mr. Yates, I… I didn’t upload anything. I swear!” the male colleague finally realized how much trouble he was in, trembling with fear.
“Do I need to repeat myself?”
With a shaky voice, the male colleague gave Justin the password.
Justin logged into the account and didn’t find Emily’s photos but did come across pictures of other women. It seemed they hadn’t been uploaded yet.
He had no interest in the other photos and handed the phone to Sam.
“Get someone from the IT department to wipe all the photos,” Justin said coldly.
The male colleague hunched over, pale–faced, his eyes dull, looking like his world had just collapsed.
“If you can’t manage this branch properly, I won’t hesitate to replace you!” Justin said, his voice sharp as he addressed the branch manager.
The manager bent slightly and hurried to explain, “Rest assured, Mr. Yates, I will handle the branch well. This was just an isolated incident, and I’ll take care of it immediately!”
Internally, the manager was furious at his brother–in–law. Of all people to photograph, why did he have to mess with the CEO’s woman?” he thought.
He knew there was no saving him. Firing him was the only way to resolve this mess for the company and himself. “Delay the meeting,” Justin ordered, pointing at the manager. “You have the afternoon to clean this place up. By tomorrow, I don’t want to see any more chaos like this!”
“Yes, yes, of course. Please don’t worry, Mr. Yates. I’ll handle it,” the manager said, bowing repeatedly.
Being scolded by the CEO in front of headquarters staff and his subordinates, he had completely lost both his dignity and authority. He shot a resentful glare at his brother–in–law.
Justin left the company with Emily. Knowing she had been wronged, he had postponed his meeting to spend time with her.
Justin was not great at comforting others but he still made an effort and said, “I had someone retrieve your suitcase and send it to Villa One. I’ll take you shopping for clothes for the next couple of days.”
He grabbed her hand and started walking toward the car.
Emily stood by the curb, refusing to move, silently resisting his attempt to pull her along.
“Emily, what are you still upset about? I already stood up for you!” Justin’s tone was laced with frustration and impatience.
He felt like he had done enough. He had even tried to comfort her. What more did she want? Did she expect him to fire the branch manager too?
He could protect Emily by firing the culprit, but firing the manager would harm the company’s operations, and he wouldn’t let that happen.
Chapter 71
Emily lifted her gaze, her eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and frustration as she looked at Justin. Her voice was soft and steady. “Justin, have you ever thought about this? As long as I stay by your side, whether in public or private, there will always be people who slander me. Maybe even worse next time.
“This time, you saw it and stopped it. But what about the next time?”
Justin’s sharp gaze scrutinized her. “What are you trying to say? The position of Mrs. Yates will never be yours. You should give up on that idea.”
Emily let out a weak, bitter laugh. Did he really think she loved him? That she was after the title of Mrs. Yates?
“Justin, just let me go. Please.“.
Justin stared at her deeply, his expression resolute. “That’s not happening.
“Just focus on being my mistress. I won’t let you hear these kinds of things again in the future.
“Now let’s go. To the mall.”
With that, Justin forcefully pulled Emily into the car.
