Chapter 79
Chapter 79
William first opened the car door for Emily, then loaded her suitcases into the trunk before driving off from the underground parking lot.
Justin watched as Emily left before turning and heading toward the arrival area.
“Justin!” Emma called out excitedly, her face lighting up with joy.
“It’s so late. Why are you here?” Justin asked, his tone calm but laced with concern, worried about her safety at night.
“I haven’t seen you in days. I missed you,” Emma said, her big, doe–like eyes shimmering with affection. “I asked Sam about your flight today and came here just to wait for you!” She lowered her head shyly, her hands clasped in front of her, as though waiting for his praise.
Justin glanced at Sam, who avoided eye contact and lowered his head.
Emma had asked him, and he couldn’t very well lie.
“Next time, bring your housekeeper along if you want to come. I don’t want you out here alone so late,” Justin said gently, though his brows furrowed slightly.
Emma nodded obediently. “Got it.”
Suddenly, she remembered something. “Where’s your bodyguard, William? I didn’t see him. Didn’t he come with you on your trip?”
Justin froze for a moment, his expression slightly uneasy. “I sent William to handle something else.”
Emma nodded but couldn’t shake the feeling. She thought she had seen a woman leaving through the VIP passage earlier. Was William escorting that woman?
Justin took Emma’s hand and led her to the outdoor parking lot.
“Sam, you can head home now. I’ll drive myself back,” Justin said.
“Goodnight, Mr. Yates. Goodnight, Miss Xander.”
Sam handed Justin the car keys before leaving in another vehicle.
Justin’s car sped down the highway, its engine humming steadily.
Justin’s expression was unreadable, his hands resting naturally on the steering wheel, eyes fixed on the road.
Sitting in the passenger seat, Emma noticed his demeanor and began to wonder about the woman she had glimpsed at the airport.
Justin had never touched her, not even when he had visited her house. She found it hard to believe that a man his age, full of energy and vigor, would have no needs.
With a slight frown and a sorrowful look, she hesitated before softly testing the waters. “Justin, should I not have come to the airport? Did I interrupt something?”
Justin glanced at her briefly. “What are you thinking? I’m happy you came. There’s no interruption.”

His answer was perfectly measured, leaving Emma unable to glean anything.
With a sweet smile, she said, “As long as you’re not upset. From now on, I’ll come to pick you up whenever you return from a trip.”
“Sure,” Justin replied.
“Justin, I went for an interview at RC Corporation a couple of days ago. Can you guess if I got the job?” Emma asked playfully.
Justin humored her, “Hmm, I have no idea.”
“I got it!” Emma beamed, leaning closer to him excitedly.
“That’s great!” Justin said, his tone warm.
“Achoo!” Emma sneezed twice in quick succession.
Justin turned off the air conditioning and said with concern. “It’s late, and you didn’t even wear warmer clothes. Now you’re sneezing.”
“I’m fine. It’s not even that cold,” Emma said, rubbing her hose.
“P’ll drop you off at home. Make sure to drink some cold medicine so you don’t end up sick for work,” Justin said, handing her a tissue.
“I’m not that delicate. I wouldn’t let it affect work,” Emma pouted, not entirely pleased.
Then, as if a thought struck her, she hesitated before suggesting, “It’s already so late, and driving at night can be dangerous. Why don’t you just stay at my place?”
