Chapter 86
Mrs. Zimmer noticed the playful tension between Justin and Emily and tactfully left the dining area.
Unaware of Emma’s return, Mrs. Zimmer assumed that Emily had stormed off to stay at a friend’s place for a couple of days after an argument with Justin, only to be retrieved by him later. Just two days ago, Justin had even called to instruct Sam to have Mrs. Zimmer stock up Emily’s closet with new outfits.
When Justin finally finished eating, Emily, who had been enduring the awkward situation like a prisoner awaiting release, quickly stood up from the table. At that moment, her phone chimed with a new message.
it was a message from Helen. “Made it home safely.”
Emily put her phone down and turned to Justin. “I want to go visit a friend.”
Justin, remembering her friend from the bar last night, frowned. “No.”
Emily stood frozen, wrestling with her thoughts, before reluctantly stepping forward and planting a quick kiss on his cheek. “I’ll be back before dark.”
Justin lowered his gaze to her, his tone softening. “Fine. Make it quick.”
Afraid he might change his mind, Emily hurried back to the guest room, washed her mouth with facial cleanser, and spat twice. Then, she texted Helen to let her know she was on her way, fixed her hair, and grabbed a gift bag.
When she returned to the living room, Justin was already dressed in his suit, seemingly waiting for her.
“I’m heading to the office. I’ll drop you off,” he said coolly
“Okay,” Emily nodded.
Just before she got into the car, Justin added, “Remember to come home tonight.”
Helen set her phone down and rolled over, intending to continue sleeping. She assumed she was in her own bed and didn’t think much about Emily’s message about arriving soon.
It wasn’t until an arm pulled her into an embrace. The warm press of skin against hers jolted her awake. Opening her eyes, she found herself nose–to–chest with a bare male torso.
Helen sat up abruptly, realizing she wasn’t wearing anything on top. She quickly grabbed the blanket to cover herself. “Why are you in my house?” she stammered, panic coloring her voice.
Zac, awakened by the commotion, felt the blanket being pulled away and reached out to grab it back. Seeing him trying to take the blanket, Helen playfully swatted at him.
Dodging her hits, Zac replied in a sleepy, husky voice, “Take a good look. This is my place.”
Helen glanced around. Clothes were scattered all over the floor, and fragments of last night’s events began to
resurface.
“Remember now?” Zac asked with a smug smile.
Helen froze for a moment before resigning herself to reality. “Well… last night wasn’t so bad,” she admitted internally.
Sure, the start had been a bit painful, but it ended up being quite enjoyable. And since it was Zac’s first time too, she felt it was worth it. She blushed, memories of the night making her cheeks burn.

Chapter 86
Zac had already gotten up and put on some lounge pants.
He was quite pleased with how things had turned out both emotionally and physically. As far as he was concerned, Helen was officially his girlfriend now.
Leaning down, he looked at her with a tender smile. “What do you want for breakfast? I’ll make it for you. Go take a shower. You can wear my clothes for now.”
Helen scratched her head, unsure of what she wanted. Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she grabbed her phone to check Emily’s earlier message.
She shot upright, her face going pale. “Forget breakfast! Emily’s on her way to my house! You have to take me home, now!”
Ignoring her embarrassment, Helen threw off the blanket and began scrambling to put her clothes on.
“Relax,” Zac said, trying to calm her down. “Get ready, and I’ll drive you home. It won’t take long.”
“This is all your fault, Zac!” she huffed, rushing to get dressed.
