* heard about the incident and simply shared what I wired I hope it helps with your investigation,” Wilfred said politely.

Standing at 6’3“, Wilfred easily looked past Justin’s should to meet Emily’s gaze. He offered her a gentle smile and a nod of acknowledgment.
Though Emily didn’t know Wilfred personally, she appreciated his willingness to testify on her behalf. Returning his nod, she smiled back in gratitude.
“I’ve said all I know. I’ll take my leave now and let you handle your affairs,” Wilfred concluded, preparing to exit
the venue.
“Sam…” Justin began, intending to have his assistant escort their guest.
“Justin, allow me to see Mr. Wilfred out,” Harry interjected stepping forward eagerly.
“Mr. Wilfred, let me accompany you,” Harry offered with atone of respect laced with flattery.
“Thank you,” Wilfred replied graciously.
As they departed, Wilfred turned back briefly, giving Emily one final nod.
Watching this, Emma tilted her head with feigned innocence and asked, “Emily, do you know Mr. Wilfred? You two seemed quite friendly. Or… was this a connection you just made tonight?”
Before Emily could respond, Stella sneered, her voice dripping with mockery. “Seems like someone can’t keep their appetite satisfied with just the Smith family. Already scouting for new prospects, huh?”
Emily shot a cold glance at both women before addressing the room. “Someone just cleared my name. If I’m innocent, I assume I’m free to leave now?”
“Emily, there’s no need to act so defensive,” Emma said, stepping forward with a smile. “Justin only brought you here because he was concerned about Heidi. He never implied you were guilty.”
From the corner, Zac let out a derisive chuckle.
“Mr. Wilfred’s testimony is nothing but hearsay,” Stella scoffed, her eyes lingering on Emily with an insinuating gaze. “Who knows if he actually saw anything?”
“Since you’re still suspicious but lack any evidence, I suggest you call the police,” Emily retorted icily.
Without waiting for a response, she turned and left the room, her steps firm and her gaze forward, not sparing Justin a second glance.
Justin’s eyes darkened as he watched her leave.
“That girl has no respect for her elders!” Stella snapped, jabbing a finger toward the door in frustration.
Heidi remained silent, her expression stormy. It was clear to her now that someone had used her as a pawn to stir up chaos at the party. But who?
“Pull all the surveillance footage from the venue and keep investigating,” Justin ordered Sam.
“Yes, Mr. Yates.” Sam left immediately.
Emma lowered her gaze to her toes, hiding the icy glint in her eyes with her lashes.

Emily stepped out of the room, ready to call for a ride and leave the suffocating atmosphere of the banquet behind. As she waited for the elevator, a familiar voice called out from behind her.
“Emily!” Emma’s voice echoed behind her.
Emily turned, her expression cold. “What do you want?”
Emma approached with a triumphant smirk. “You saw it yourself in that room, didn’t you? Justin doesn’t trust you at all!”
Emily raised a brow but remained silent.
“Justin loves me,” Emma declared proudly. “We’ve known each other since college. You’re nothing but a stand–in he used while I wasn’t around. You’re just a replacement to fulfill his needs. A plaything.”
Her words dripped with arrogance, her laughter biting. “Let me give you a word of advice. A woman’s youth is fleeting. Why waste it being someone’s toy?”
Leaning closer, she added maliciously, “Women who stoop to being someone’s mistress never end well.”
Emily’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Are you threatening me?”
She took a step forward, meeting Emma’s gaze directly. “If you two were such a perfect college couple, how come his first sexual experience wasn’t with you? Seems like your charm wasn’t quite enough to seal the deal, huh?” Emma’s eyes narrowed in fury, her smug demeanor replaced by barely restrained rage.
