In the evening, Ellie left the outpatient building of the hospital with Mark. She saw Alex again by the roadside.
The smile on Ellie’s face disappeared the moment she saw Alex. Alex, noticing the change in Ellie’s expression upon seeing him, immediately showed a displeased look.
Mark, following Ellie’s line of sight, saw Alex and politely came over to greet him. “Alex, long time no see.”

After a brief exchange of pleasantries with Mark, Alex fixed his gaze on Ellie. “You should have received my grandfather’s call. Let’s go.”
“No need. I’ll take a taxi,” Ellie said, stepping back when Alex reached for her.
She had received a call from Carlos himself during her shift, asking her to visit the Warren Manor. Since Carlos had spoken, she couldn’t refuse.
“Ms. Thompson, Mr. Carlos Warren has sent me to pick you up.” Evan approached respectfully.
“Mark, I’ll leave first,” Ellie said her goodbyes to Mark and got into the car sent by Evan.
Alex looked at Evan in silence. Evan explained, “Mr. Carlos Warren was worried that Ellie wouldn’t leave with you, so he sent
me.”
Alex was at a loss for words.
When Ellie arrived at the Warren Manor, Alex had just arrived as well. They entered the living room one after the other, without speaking to each other.
