Ellie arrived at the bedroom door, and somehow Alex had already sneaked up behind her, closing the door before she could.
Alex, barefoot, took off his shirt right in front of Ellie. Ellie casually watched Alex’s strong upper body.
Alex was very tall, standing at six–foot–three, a classic clothes model–appearing slim in clothes but muscular when shirtless, his muscles both attractive and strong, he had everything one could want.

Alex grabbed Ellie’s wrist with one hand and her neck with the other, forcing her to meet his gaze.
He spoke to her deliberately, “I never intended for you to leave the Warren family, but not in the role you’re after.”
Ellie retorted, “What role are you thinking of, then?”
Ignoring Ellie’s question, Alex said, “I just want to know the real reason you joined the Warren family!”
Ellie felt a wave of irony wash over her. He knew better than anyone else what those paintings stood for.
The only reason he kept pushing was to get her to admit, to hear her say out loud, that she had secretly liked him for seven
years.
After a brief silence, Ellie boldly looked into Ales’s eyes. “Whether I entered the Warren family or claimed kinship, wasn’t it all because you forced me?”
“Haley keeps causing trouble for me again and again, and you hurt me over and over for her. Ellie’s tone was calm, while Alex’s eyes flickered.
Alex released Ellie slowly, and his Adam’s apple moved up and down intensely, yet he said nothing.

“How could you? Just for the woman you love, you completely ignore my dignity? You don’t care how hurt I am, yet you force me to clear her name. You even threaten me with Aaron?”
Silent tears rolled down from Ellie’s eyes, and after her sharp words, her voice became calm.

Loosening his grip a bit, Alex reached up to gently wipe away the tears from Ellie’s cheeks, the anguish in his eyes no longer hidden.
Ellie stood still, allowing Alex to wipe her tears.
She let out a mocking chuckle and said, “Don’t let my tears dirty the name of your beloved woman on your ring finger!”
Alex’s hand froze as he was wiping Ellie’s tears. Then he looked at the tattoo on his left ring finger.
