Logan said, “Your mom’s right. Even if the Warren family elders don’t recognize you as their daughter–in–law, as long as Alex acknowledges your relationship, that’s all that matters. Call him now and get him over here. I’ll speak to him face to face!”
Haley’s mom said, “Alex loves you so much; he won’t ignore your brother. Just give him a call, and we’ll talk to him ourselves!”
“Dad, Mom, please stop pressuring me!” Haley, her eyes darting nervously, cried out. “He doesn’t love me at all!” With no other choice, Haley confessed to her parents about pretending that Ellie was the one who saved them.
Seeing her parents‘ jaws drop in shock, Haley awkwardly stood up. “I’ve already confronted him. He’s using Ethan’s case to force me to decide. He wants to break up!”
Logan immediately changed his tone. “I’ll see what I can do about Ethan’s case. You keep things calm with him for now!” Crying, Evelyn scolded her husband, “At a time like this, you’re still thinking about connections with the Warren family. Since Alex doesn’t have feelings for Haley, let’s focus on having him save our son before he finds out everything!”
Haley said, “I can’t break up with him!”

“Mom!” Haley instinctively glanced at Ellie, her expression suddenly changing.
She and Evelyn had agreed to use the necklace to pressure Alex into agreeing to save Ethan, but she hadn’t expected Ellie to be there too.
She absolutely couldn’t let Ellie see this necklace. Haley kept signaling to Evelyn, frantically pushing her towards the car.
In the confusion, Evelyn dropped the necklace on the ground.
